Today
I discovered
what loneliness truly meant
through the ripples of words
written by a brilliant author
as the character had lunch by himself
and left his job early
because the people weren't too pleasant to be around,
and the he went to the park alone
and witnessed those who were in love
under a lonesome willow tree
carve their initials into the rough tree bark -
shakenly drawn letters
that would remain forever.
