It had all happened so fast. Where had all the time gone?
The guardians had defeated Pitch five years ago. He wasn't supposed to return for another century or so, but he was back. No one knew for sure why he had returned so quickly, but they all assumed it was because fear was at an all time high. Pitch was never destroyed, he had just been condemned to the shadows, but no one had expected him to still be there, gaining power from them. He had been watching from the shadows, waiting for the right moment to emerge. He had his eyes on a specific two lovers, and he finally found the right moment to strike.
It was a chilly night in (town name). (Y/N) had just laid (C/N) down to sleep. He/she had his/her mother's hair and his/her father's electric blue eyes.
(Y/N) was preparing to go to sleep herself when she heard a series of loud noises from her child's room. She raced to his/her room and cautiously opened the door. She was greeted with the sight of a familiar violet-black nightmare circling her daughter/son. Without a second thought, she shot a red orb of charged, pulsing energy towards the yellow eyed mare. The sand that it consisted of fell to the ground and lost its glowing sheen.
She ran over to (C/N) and gently picked him/her up, checking him/her for injuries. He/she seemed fine, and it looked like he/she was still dreaming peacefully. (Y/N) took her child to her and Jack's bedroom and waited for him to return. He arrived home later the next morning. His wife wasted no time in telling him what had happened the previous night. He picked up his daughter/son and asked him/her if he/she had slept well. He/she told him yes, which meant that (Y/N) had gotten to their room just in time.
It didn't make any sense to them that Pitch had returned so soon. They grabbed their child and flew to the North Pole for answers. (C/N) went over and greeted Sandy, who entertained him/her with endearing images made from sand.
Jack and (Y/N) explained to North what had happened the night before. The Cossack didn't understand either. He turned to Manny for help, but when he turned he saw black grains of sand enclosing the gigantic globe in the center of the room. A malevolent sounding laughter echoed throughout the area. The yetis grabbed (C/N) and took him/her out of the room. The guardians all took a defensive stance and (Y/N) formed a mini inferno in her hand, preparing to strike.
The room was engulfed in absolute darkness and a mocking voice was all that could be heard.
"Hello guardians, and (Y/N). It's been awhile hasn't it? I mean, my disappearance hasn't lasted as long as it did after you defeated me during the dark ages, but it's a pleasure to see you all again."
Bunny glared at him menacingly." We defeated you, how are you back?" Pitch smirked and chuckled quietly. "Oh it wasn't that hard, Aster. I've been lurking in the shadows, roaming during the night in search of fear. Which of course isn't that hard to find nowadays, wouldn't you agree?" Pitch's yellow eyes landed on (Y/N) and Jack." We meet again. Your relationship never ceases to amaze me. Fire and ice." He tutted." I see that you've gotten married and you've got a new addition. (C/N) is it? Oh my nightmares are so very eager to make him/her tremble in terror." He said menacingly." You'll never touch him/her!" (Y/N) exclaimed angrily." Is that so?" He said, voice full of ridicule.
North unsheathed one of his swords."Whatever problems you have with us are with us only. Leave the children alone!" He bellowed apoplectically. The king of the shadows smiled." No need to get so angry North. Luckily for you I've said what I needed to say so I'll be taking my leave." With that, the light returned and Pitch was nowhere to be found.
