Third Person Pov
What had he done? He watched in a paralyzed state as adults and children alike were rushed to the nearest hospital. Their lips had a bluish tint to them, some because their body tempurature was dangerously low, others... He couldn't escape from what he had done. He was suffocating in the tragedy that he had caused. Wails of both emotional turmoil and physical pain drowned out everything else. He tried flying away, but the images were burned into his mind. The events that had just taken place would not cease in haunting him. Why couldn't he just suffer in peace? The event had taken place three hours ago. Jack had been in a depressed state again, depreciating thoughts and low self-esteem plaguing his already fragile mind.
His one and only companion, Wind, tried her best to cheer him up. She danced around him playfully, tousling his hair and ruffling his clothes. She flowed through the sky, going in his opposite direction. A small smile graced his countenance and he gave chase.
He flew high and low, zooming through bustling cities and vacant ghost towns. His sullen thoughts were chased away and replaced with joy and excitement.
Little did he know, his high spirits were affecting the warm spring weather.
Small white flakes leisurely fell from the sky, their speed increasing by the minute.
An abundance of snow fell from the sky until cities were buried in up to seven feet of snow.
The Spirit Of Winter realized what he was doing and tried to control and stop the rapidly increasing snowfall, but his attempts were all in vain.
Layers of sleet were buried under blankets of snow. Those who were unfortunate enough to have been out during the storm were either chilled to the bone or numb to the freezing weather.
Death claimed the lives of many, while severe injuries afflicted others. Snow plows ran through cities, taking a portion of the snow, and unintentionally, the deceased, with them.
People that had been before trapped by the relentless snowfall rushed out of their shelters and immediately began searching for their loved ones. This resulted in many more of the dearly departed, and broken hearts.
It was rare to find someone under the hefty, piercing snow that was alive. Those that were had been right on the verge of death.
Jack watched as a lover clutched onto one of the dead, screaming to the skies about the cruelties of the world. A mother grabbed her still child, sobbing and whispering words along the lines of 'Take me instead.'
'No,' thought Jack,' If anyone deserves to die, it's me.'
He walked through a once grassy area, shame and self-loathing evident in his eyes.
As if the situation hadn't been rotten enough, E. Aster Bunnymund appeared out of a tunnel in the ground, and he was dead set on finding a certain Winter spirit.
Jack instinctively took a step back when he saw him. He'd seen the way kangaroos kickboxed, and he was in no hurry to become a victim.
Upon further inspection, he saw that he was really an oversized rabbit, with a menacing glare directed towards him.
' Is he looking at me?' Jack thought. He looked around to see if he was looking at someone or something else, but they were the only ones in the area. The idea of someone seeing him briefly distracted him from the more serious situation at hand."Jack Frost, I had a feeling this had something to do with you." Bunnymund growled. Somewhere in the back of his mind, Jack thought that the accent wasn't helping to dilute the kangaroo theory.
"I didn't mean to do this, I was just-" Jack was abruptly cut off.
"You were just jealous that no one believes in you so you just had to go and mess up my holiday!" Bunny exclaimed angrily.
Jack's eyes widened. Was that what he thought? Sure, he was envious of the fact that other spirits were believed in and he was just written off as an expression, but he'd never intentionally sabotage someone else's holiday just to spite them! He'd completely forgotten that it was Easter. At that moment, he noticed a damp, limp sign in the snow advertising an Easter egg hunt that was supposed to take place later on in the day. That was another thing he had ruined.
"What? No, I didn't mean to do this! It was only an accident!" Jack said in an attempt to defend himself.
Bunny rolled his eyes." Do you really expect me to believe that? Everyone knows that your just some rowdy, careless Winter spirit looking for attention! No wonder you did this. Well listen to this," he leaned towards Jack." No one will believe in you, ever. Just look at what you've caused! You don't deserve to be seen, all you ever bring is heartache and death!" Bunnymund gave him a disgusted look. "You're better off alone." With that, he stomped the ground and dropped through the tunnel that appeared under his paw. A sunflower appeared, leaning towards the gleaming star that seemed to be burning brighter than before, chasing away the snow and its maker.
Jack flew as fast as the wind would carry him until he landed in Antarctica. He buried himself in a snow bank and cried. His tears turned to yells of how despicable he was. No one could comfort him this time.
Not even the wind.
