"Ryder, I was murdered."

Miles said nothing else, keeping his arms crossed tightly at his chest as his tendrils whipped impatiently. He waited, just staring at the living boy with furrowed brows; watching the irritation slowly melt into confusion.

"WaitWhoa, whoa, wait," Ryder started, sitting right back up, "You were what?"

"How much more clearer do I have to be, scumbag?" The Entity hissed out in his own irritation, digging his claws into the sides of his arms, "I. Was. Murdered. Back in the cafeteria, I gained my first memory. I've never had one of those, and it was right before you—"

"—It was your fault that I'm here?" The boy quickly interrupted, his expression showing that he was trying to piece this together, "How did you even do that?"

"Ryder, I didn't do it intentionally! It just happened, I swear!" Miles blurted out, skin tearing to form a mouth.

A small wail, screech sounding, emitted from the tear that created his mouth. A sudden wave of desperation had washed over him, another low wail coming from him. Sadness, he couldn't remember the last time he had felt this emotion. Desperation, and sadness. It was all new to him, he let another wail out as his hands lifted to clutch the sides of his head. What's—What's happening to me?! What's—

"Miles..." Ryder's tone was soft, earning another wavering cry from the Entity, "Miles, it's alright... Hey, look at me."

Slowly, his hands lowered from his hand and his gaze lifted, posture only slumping in the slightest. He took note of the soft expression his host wore, it only hammered guilt into his chest. He didn't mean for the boy to get hurt, he didn't even expect Ryder to react as well. It was a shocker to the both of them.

"I—I would never hurt you," Miles' voice quivered in a low whisper, dripping with misery. "I promise, I wouldn't..."

"Miles, we're gonna find out who did this to you."

...

Miles stuck close to Ryder's side, hands shoved into the pockets of his hoodie. He wasn't paying attention to the chattering three, they had decided to walk home from school; the town was safe, no one had to worry about being in danger. His mind was elsewhere, trying to remember what his memory consisted of. There was a body... My body. Two voices had bickered back and forth, they seemed familiar; but, no names came to mind. One sounded younger than the other, I remember that much.. Were they family? One said I deserved it, the younger one.

"Movie night, let's do it! We're gonna watch The Nightmare Before Christmas, and you guys can't tell me otherwise! Friday nights always call for movies," Aria exclaimed, pulling Miles from his thoughts, "You boys don't wanna argue with me, do you?"

Miles kept his pace up with the trio, glancing over at the dirty-blonde with an arched brow. This girl knows the movie like the back of her hand, front and back. The Entity wasn't entirely excited to see the movie once again, a long growl leaving his throat as his posture slumped over.

"Hey, puta!" A sharp female's voice rang out, stopping Miles mid-step, "Albino Tampon, what's your ass doing around these parts?"

He didn't need to turn around to know who it was, he was already getting the nervous vibe from his host. This should be fun, his thoughts were filled with sarcasm, simply glancing over his shoulder to spot a raven-haired female; skin being just a little darker than the others he was with. Her hair was tied back, a few stray strands seemed to have fallen out. The stranger had her dark emerald eyes set on the small group, glaring even. Her posture wasn't slumped, but it wasn't straight either; she even had her hands shoved in her dark brown hoodie.
