(A/N: I totally could have made this two chapters...but instead it's just super long.)
"I don't have a type," Addison denied into her phone.
"You totally have a type," Noelle insisted. Addison huffed in frustration. She wished her friend were here in person so that she could better defend herself. "Black hair, tallish, nice singing voice. Did I just describe Tom, Gerard, or Pierre?"
"You also described half the male student population at our high school," Addison rolled her eyes. "You could include Billie Joe in that list too, but I'm not attracted to him."
"That's because he and Adrienne are attached at the hip," Noelle retorted. "You never had a chance to develop a crush on him. And he's not tall enough."
"Fine, then explain Chad," Addison demanded. Addison had met Chad at school in her history class second semester. They had dated for a few months, but mutually broke up because of different interests. Although Chad had been on the taller side, he was ginger and could not sing in the right key to save his life.
"Easy. He was just a rebound after you broke up with Tom," Noelle answered. "You dated someone who was the complete opposite of Tom. You weren't actually attracted to him."
"That's not true! Chad was cute," Addison defended.
"Okay, fine, I've only seen pictures," Noelle conceded. "But I think that one guy versus three means that you have a type."
"Fine, then you like blond bass players," Addison shot back, trying to recall as much information about David that Pierre had slipped last night at the beach.
"Two guys!" Noelle exclaimed. Addison grinned at her success of striking one of Noelle's nerves. "And I've been with way more guys than you have so your type ratio is much higher than mine."
"That doesn't even make sense," Addison laughed. She sat down on her bed, tired of pacing her bedroom floor.
"It totally does," Noelle countered. "But you may be right. David is really cute."
"You met him last night," Addison stated.
"So? I can still think he's cute."
"Yeah, but I get the feeling that there's more to the relationship than you just thinking he's cute."
"You'd be correct." Addison could practically hear Noelle's smirk through the phone. "I should probably start getting ready. I'm spending the afternoon with David."
"You mean you need to get ready for your date," Addison teased.
"Sure, Ads," Noelle chuckled.
"Have fun!"
"Thanks. Bye, Addison." Addison hung up and dropped her phone beside her onto the bed. She glanced over at her alarm clock on her nightstand. The time read one in the afternoon but Addison had been up for only an hour.
She had texted and called her girl friends in hopes of doing something with them today, but they all had plans with their boyfriends, or in Noelle's case, plans with her new boy-toy. Even Alice, who Addison had hardly seen since she got back home except when she had stumbled into bed at two in the morning last night, was at Mikey's. Again.
Addison's stomach rumbled noisily. She sighed, knowing she should probably eat something but also not wanting to run into Isobel. She decided that the risk was worth it and she crept out of her room, trying to be as stealthy as possible.
