I sat in Sarah's waiting for Luke. There had been no phone calls, no text messages and it had been 4hours. I had so much anxiety, I was so scared that Luke wasn't going to be okay.
Sarah's doorbell went and my stomach turned inside out. I didn't think I could handle seeing Luke in any state worse than the other day.
"Hi " Luke said coming in and sitting on the seat beside me.
I kept my face straight, but as I turned to Luke I burst out crying.
"Shhhh it's going to be okay. You're safe now that you're with me" Luke said
"Wait a minute, are you saying whoever it is, there after me?" I said almost speechless
"No there not"Luke replied.
"So there after you, how exactly does that mean I'm safe with you" I said Luke's face dimmed right down , I couldn't help but burst out laughing.
"Okay in all serious what is going on, is it that Ashton guy behind this."I said
"No. Well in the school I use to go to, I was in a gang, and Ashton was in it to" Luke said looking down at the ground.
"Hold up, you. were in a gang. But you could hurt a fly" I said trying my hardest not to laugh.
"Yes I was in a gang ! So there was another gang in our area and there was this big fight one day but Ashton and I said we were out and left. That night the gang that we were in lost and they blamed us. So David who was the head off them, started harassing Ashton and I. In the end it got to the point when I was walking home one day he jumped out of a bush with a knife and stabbed my side. I fought back as well as I could but it was to much. I fell unconscious at the side of a street, next thing I knew I was in hospital for blood lost. In the end I told the police and David ended up in jail for 4 years. Then my family moved away to here" Luke paused
I sat there shocked, I alway thought that scar at his side was just some sporting accident.
*Luke point of view *
Nicole didn't say a word she sat there looking at me in complete shock.
She tried to hide a few steams of tears running from her eyes, I needed to just come out with the rest.
"He said to me before he went to jail, I was to watch my back because the minute he got out no one I knew would be safe. Ashton came up yesterday to catch me up on a few things. Most of David's gang members are still ready to fight for him." I took another pause to take in her reaction she had got her self together and stopped cry.
"Also that his 4 years are up today."
