"So how exactly do we want to handle this situation?" I said to the rest of my housemates. I had no idea what to do. I didn't have any time to think anything over, however, because a space suddenly opened up in the middle of the wall behind me, kind of like a portal. From it, emerged Jinx, my almost-mentally-insane vampire boss. I was holding a silver knife and my reflexes were quicker than my brain, and I almost stabbed him in the heart.
"Oh my god Jinx what the hell are you doing? You scared the crap out of me! Please explain how you managed to walk through my wall" I relaxed my body and put the knife down. Not too far though. You never knew when you were going to need it. Jinx eyed me with suspicion and stared at the knife in my hand.
"I don't think you're going to need that Ellie. I'd rather not get stabbed in the heart if you please"
I sneered at him. He may have been completely nuts, but I wasn't going to stab him anytime soon.
"What are you doing here? And you still haven't told me how you just appeared in my house." I said.
Jinx sighed deeply. Almost as if he were ashamed at me for even asking such a question."I've managed to finish the portal system. It seemed to be working so I wanted to test it out. It seems to be stable so far."
I stared at him with astonishment. We had been working on a way to move around the town safely without being followed. It's sort of necessary here. I hadn't thought we would ever achieve it until now. Because now, Jinx was standing in our living room, with his weird sense of clothing fashion and his cute vampire bunny slippers. Which was actually pretty stupid because anything could have gone wrong. He could have appeared with an arm missing or something.
"Woah, excuse me" Tara said, breaking me out of my train of thought. "But when were we going to be told about this portal system? We matter too you know." She looked at me with a sad, fake expression.
"I second that" Jake agreed. "Why didn't you tell us? You tell me everything Ell. Why wasn't I told about this?"
"Sorry guys, I wanted to make it a surprise. You know, once we got it working, I could just take the portal home and scream out 'BAZINGA!' Guess that won't work now." I smiled at Jake. He smiled back. I loved his smile. It made me feel like I was worth something.
"You could still do that, you know" Bailey told me. It actually wasn't a bad idea now that I think about it, even though I was only joking.
"Well, I might still do it one day." I laughed.
"Well, this has been fun, but I need to get back to the lab. I just wanted to see if the system was working, I didn't need a whole conversation." Jinx said. Of course he didn't want a whole conversation. God, that would just be way too much pressure wouldn't it?
I rolled my eyes at him. "Yeah okay, Bye Jinx. We need to eat anyway and I'm sure you wouldn't want to stay for dinner. I don't think we would want you too either if I'm being honest. So yes, maybe it would be better if you left"
He looked at me with a weird expression. "I'm quite sure I have no idea what you mean by that." And with that, he closed his eyes, and walked through the portal in the wall that was still sitting there, shimmering in the light. For the rest of the night, we sat down in front of the T.V, ate Chinese food and watched a couple of movies. After the third movie (Saw V||. Tara insisted) we all got up and went to bed. I couldn't sleep though. I don't know why. I was just about to get up and go to Jake's room when my door creaked open and he walked in instead.
"Hey, You awake?" He asked me. I sat up and nodded. He climbed in beside me and threw his arm around me. I love cuddling up to him. I snuggled down into his warm chest and lay there.
"I don't know about you, but I was just thinking of all the things we could do right now." He eyed me with that gorgeous sexy look that he knew I couldn't resist. I grabbed one of the many pillows on my bed and hit him with it.
"You are such a guy." I laughed.
"I love your laugh" He looked at me with an expression that had so much love in it, my heart practically melted. I sat up and kissed him, slowly and passionately. I melted into him and the kiss continued, getting deeper. It was filled with just so much love and happiness. I could feel the butterflies in my stomach. He kissed me back with so much force I almost fell off the bed. It lasted quite a while if I'm being honest. It was one of the best kisses of my life.
