Words from the story "Night" by Elie Wiesel
----------------------------------------------

Listen to me!
They think I'm mad.
I was saved
- you don't understand

I am too old to leave
Yet, I live in an atmosphere of fear and terror.
Anguish with its steel helmets will come.

I warned you!
The news is terrible
Transports

There are rumors
The shadows, go wake the neighbors.
Tomorrow you will be expelled from here.
The time has come...
You must leave all this...

When will it be our turn?
We were ready, wielding clubs, shouting
Faster! Faster!
I already felt so weak.

A piercing cry broke the silence.
Fire! I see a fire!
Have mercy on me!

Listen to me!
Have mercy!
I am not hallucinating
You may think I'm mad
But this mad man is safe.
