Chapter 19: Bring It.

Sapphire's P.O.V.
        We ran. All of us. Staff, that is. There was more writing on the walls of the school, in blood, again. 
"See? The heir of Slytherin left another message." Professor McGonagall pointed. Severus and I exchanged nervous glances. 'What does this all mean?' said the look on both our faces.
"Our worst fear has been realized. A student has been taken by the monster, taken into the chamber itself. Students must be sent home. I'm afraid this is the end of Hogwarts." McGonagall continued, and ended with a sigh. Then comes Lockhart, just leisurely strolling in, all happy. I rolled my eyes and mentally facepalmed myself. Idiot. 
"Sorry. Dozed off. What'd I miss?" He said, smiling. I scoffed, rather loudly, and everyone turned to look at me. My eyes widened and I put my hands up in the air, as if to say 'so-rry.'
"A girl has been snatched by the monster, Lockhart." Severus said. "Your moment has come at last." I saw a hint of smirk in Severus's voice. 
"My m-moment?" Lockhart asked nervously.
"Weren't you saying just yesterday that you've known all along where the entrance to the Chamber of Secrets is? Or am I mistaken?" I had said, smirking at him. 
"Then it's settled. We'll leave you to deal with the monster, Gilderoy. Your skill is, after all, a legend." Mcgonagall said. 
Lockhart froze for a moment, two, three. Then, he spoke, with some fake confidence. 
"Very well. Uh, I'll just be in my office then, getting..uh..getting ready." He sort of smiled and stalked off. 
"Who is it that the monster's taken, Minerva?" Poppy asked.
"Ginny Weasley." McGonagall said. I choked back a gasp. But then I thought, why pick her out of everyone..?
All of us walked away from the whole scene, me thinking 'bring it' to the whole thing, knowing Lockhart won't help much so someone else will have to step in. 
We left the writing. 

Her skeleton will lie in the chamber forever.
