*Two months*
SaturdayI was laying in my room thinking why I've been feeling so sick lately and why I hate the smell of sausage and tomato sauce.
I asked Madison to come over so I can talk to her. She barged in my room.
"Hey are you okay?" She asked as she laid next to me on my bed.
"I don't know, I think I'm sick or something, I've been throwing up for that past week"
"When did you have your period? Just wondering since you did have sex like two months ago" She asked slowly.
"It was late-" I sat up, "Wait, no no no no" I started panicking.
"Maisie, calm down you might not even be pregnant"
"I have all the signs! Morning sickness, I got my two periods late, how are those not signs?" Right now my brother was with his friends at the beach and my mom was still working.
"It's only one, I'll ask my older sister to get us a pregnancy test" Madison left after she said that while calling her sister.
I sat there.
I can't be pregnant, I'm only sixteen.
I'm almost done with my sophomore year. What if Darren had something?
March is half way over. I checked the calendar on my phone.
March 19th.
The party was two months ago?
The party was on a Friday two months ago making it January 15th.
If I am pregnant, I would be 2 months.
No. This can't be happening! What about my mom, my education, my future?
I can't I'm only a teenager. I'm not even close to being a mom or taking care of a child, what an I taking about? I am a child.
Why did I have to follow Darren to that room? If I didn't then none of this would be happening.
"Here" I looked up to Madison back in my room holding out a silver package that read the brands name on it.
"I need to drink a gallon of water before I take that" I tried lightening up the mood. I walked down stairs and drank some water.
Some time passed and I need to go bathroom. I grabbed the pregnancy test and opened the package.
My palms were getting sweaty and I was nervous.
"Come on Maisie, you can do it, all you need to do is pee" I heard Madison through the door.
Here I go.
-
A few minutes went by as Madison and I were sitting on my bed.
"Just imagine if your pregnant, you have a little Maisie running around" Madison gushed.
"If is a girl what would you name her?"
I thought, "I'd name her... Arabelle or Athena"
"What if it's a boy?"
"I'd name him... Dylan or River" I shrugged.
I looked at my phone and realized it was past the standard wait limit.
I looked at the pregnancy test on my desk.
I looked at Madison as she stared back.
I took a deep breathe and walked to my desk.
I lifted it up to see the results.
I saw a positive sign.
I'm pregnant.
"Maisie...." Madison whispered.
"I know" I started to cry.
Madison hugged me as I cried.
When I was done I looked at her.
"You need to tell him" she said seriously.
"I know I do"
-
Madison and I decided we should go for a walk on the beach.
"I can't believe my best friend is pregnant" Madison said in awe.
"Neither can I"
"I can't believe you have a little human growing inside you" she smiled.
"Yeah me either" I smiled at the thought of having a baby in my arms and then I started to feel terrified.
"Come on, let's take a picture so we can both cherish the moment when you found out you're pregnant!" She brought out her phone and turned on the front facing camera.
We both smiled as the sun was reflecting off the oceans water in the background and our hair was flying in all directions.
She opened snapchat and took a similar picture with the caption; "Unexpected surprises are the best ;*"
We walked to the water.
"What time is it?" I asked.
"Two thirty"
"What should we do?" She asked excitedly.
"I don't know, you decide" I chuckled.
"Let's go for pizza!"
We walked down to a little pizzeria that was lacrosse from the beach.
When we entered, the pizza aroma made me sick. When we got to the counter an employee walked by with a steaming hot pizza. The smell made me gag and I ran to a bathroom.
I threw up in one of the stalls.
"I'm really sorry Mase, but I'd hold your hair and everything but I have a weak stomach" I heard her from the stall door.
"It's fine" I walked out the stall, "We just need to leave" I her as I washed my hands and rinsed my mouth out
I quickly walked out of the pizzeria with Madison behind me.
We walked across the street back to the beach.
"Hey, is that..." Madison trailed off squinting her green eyes in the distance.
I looked where her eyes were trained on to see a guy with golden brown long shaggy hair and a huge group playing football by the water.
"Darren" I whispered.
