I was having contractions.

It started happening after school, I was having pain that happened every couple of minutes, so I called my mom and explained what I was experiencing.

But knowing my mom, she packed a bag before getting me, and we went to the hospital.

They put us in the labor part of the hospital. I was so scared and began to think of the babies. My mom was sitting the chair by my bed.

"Mom, I'm scared" I looked at her while trying not to cry. Everything became so real to me. I was in the hospital in a gown, waiting to give birth to my twins.

My mom stood next to my bed and stroked her hand on my head, "I know, you'll be okay" she comforted me in a calming voice.

The doctor said I needed to dilate more, but that my pain tolerance was high.

My mom was calling everyone in our family in the six hours we need to wait.

In between that time, they gave me something to help ease the pain. The pain got worse, but that meant my babies were almost here. I wanted Darren with me, but I didnt want him in the room. I only wanted my mom with me. Although no one told me if he was here or did he call me back about why I was in the hospital. It was like he didnt even have a phone with him.

At 10:24 PM, my first baby was born. Then soon after at 10:28 PM, my second baby was born. The pain was horrible. My first thoughts was how I actually got through all that pain.

I was exhausted and still in pain. The babies were crying, which was a good sign. The nurse cleaned them off and handed my babies to me.

Both wrapped in the rough material of a blanket. They were still crying, and who they looked like more wasn't distinct yet. I got a few minutes with them. I was so happy, I loved them with everything I had in me. They were mine.

Soon enough, they needed to take them to clean my babies, and run medical tests for anything wrong.

I was covered in sweat and was so exhausted. My mom was the only person here that witnessed me giving birth. Then my thoughts went back to Darren as i drifted to sleep.

Why wasn't he here?

I woke up to the background noise of the TV being on. I slowly began to wake up, my hand quickly going to my stomach. I smiled, knowing my babies are finally here, but a part of me was sad that weren't in me anymore.

I looked around the room. No one was here but me. I rubbed my eyes, and tied my hair up. The window in my room showed me the sun rise or sun set. I checked the clock on the wall. It was the sun rise. My mom must've opened the blinds before she left.

The tv was mounted on the wall, perfect view for me, but under it was a whiteboard on the wall. My nurses names, tv channels for teen moms, and feeding times were written in a purple marker. To my left was a sink and mirror, and around the corner was the bathroom.

I heard my door open, my mom came in smiling.

"The babies are healthy" she came to my bed and hugged me.

"Oh, and their cries are so cute" she walked around to my right side to take a seat on the hospital chairs.

There was a knock on my door, then it opened.

I saw my older brother Daniel with pink balloons and a pink gift bag, behind him came his girlfriend, Justice.

She was smiling, with another gift bag in her hand.

"Congrats!" She handed me the bag.

"Good job" Daniel hugged me after.

Throughout the day, family came through with some more gifts and balloons, and nurses came in with my meals.

The doctors came in too, checking up on me.

Then, they brought in my babies, laying seperated in each of their little crib like bed.

I was filled with happiness. The were wrapped in light pink blankets, with pink caps on, sleeping.

I got to hold them. They were tiny, and delicate.

"They're perfectly healthy baby girls, and if you need anything, just press the button" the nurse told me then walked out.

I looked over at my mom who was taking pictures of my and my babies on her phone.

"Do you want to hold one of them?" I asked. My mom was tearing up as she nodded.

I was happy, excited and tired. We put the babies back in their little cribs. I started to fall asleep again. Only if Darren actually showed up.
