"Za'im, have you sent the messengers?"

"Yes sir. They will return in fifteen days."

"You are dismissed."

Za'im bowed in respect and exited the king's court.

"Everyone else may also exit."

The king's men obeyed and left Amarendra to himself.

"Amrutha? what are you doing here? Why are you not asleep?"

"I can't sleep. I wanted to play."

"With who?"

"With you! Why do you think I am here!"

"Now? It's almost midnight!"

"Yes now! Try and catch me!"

"What?"

With that, Amrutha ran out to the garden, her anklets ringing with the sound of her musical laugh.

"Amrutha wait, I am a prince. I am not supposed to sneak out like this."

The young girl however, continued to run, holding up her skirt and looking back playfully.

"Raajkumara, if you catch me, you can ask me for anything."

Amarendra then started running after Amrutha and yelled out, "Careful with that prize priya, you do not know what I could ask for."

His words were not answered. Amarendra's smile vashished as he saw Amrutha fall to the ground with a scream.
