It was 12 o'clock now. My mobile rang again. The blue light making me wonder was he calling again. I answered the call with trembling hands and without seeing the caller id.
I heard ragged breath on the other end.
"He-hello?"
Then a sharp intake of breath with a cry of pain.
My hands shook beyond control and I was almost about to lose the mobile when -
"Lilly." Delcan whispered.
"Delcan. Oh! Delcan." I cried.
"I love you." His voice was pained and broken.
He was crying.
He had never said those words to me, even though we were officially a couple for five months , he never said those words.
And without second thoughts, I said, "I love you too, baby."
And the line went dead.
Was it real?
"No! No! You can't go like that." I rambled unlocking the mobile screen.
I had received his call from an unknown number. Both the times.
I called back but the mobile was switched off.
"No. No."
I tried again.
Again and again.
"NO! DELC-"
A hand covered my mouth.
