6 - I'll stay by you

"so, as Yeager said, I hear your training went well" Levi said

"I-its not for me to say" you said nervously, still thinking about what Armin said.

"ok, good, your humble, that's a good feature for our solders. Mikasa is wanting to see you, she has since you left with Hanji, that is where I'm taking you." Levi said plainly, as usual. then you suddenly came to a stop, "go through here, Mikasa is waiting for you" he opened the door for you and pushed you in, as soon as you were in the room he left.

"[y/n]!!!" Mikasa shouted running to you, "how are you doing?!" she asked.

"I-I'm doing fine" you said then gave a warm smile, "how about you?"

"Great, thanks, hows Eren, I'm not allowed to see him much because of training"

"Why do you need to train, I thought you were the best solder?" you said confused.

"we still need to train, but back to Eren, how is he?!" she demanded

"he's fine!" you giggled, "why do you love him so much?!"

"I'm sorry, its just...... never mind its a long story"

"I have a lot of time"

"well... it was about 6 years ago, Wall maria was broken down and his mother was hit, the house collapsed around her and we couldn't get her out....that- that-" tears streamed down her face. You placed my hand on her shoulder, "that day, before the attack, I promised her that I would keep Eren safe, but because I never see him... its.... its pretty hard" she said, "it still horrors us both today!" more tears spilled down her cheeks. You walked closer to her and gave her a hug.

"don't worry," is all you could say...

"Th-thanks said [y/n]," Mikasa said,

"I'll stay by you, Mikasa" you said, you stepped back and held her hands. "W-we can stay together, we can look after each other, we could....." You hesitated.

"We could....." Mikasa copied

"Be best friends" you smiled, Mikasa smiled back at you.

"I never thought I would have a best friend after everything that's happened, all anyone can think of is keeping safe and not getting eaten...... I'd love to be your best friend!!" Mikasa said then hugged you tight. At first you were startled by her sudden actions but you then hugged her back, "I promise I won't leave you, [y/n], I will be there for you as you are for me". Suddenly Levi ran in.

"Mikasa! [y/n]! Come quick" he said.

"Sir! What's happened?" Asked Mikasa

"Annie is awake! She's....she's... Gone!"

"WHAT?!" You and Mikasa chorused.

"Just get out we think she is going back through wall Maria!" He shouted then left the room. You and Mikasa followed him to your horses and jumped on, Eren, Armin, Hanji, Jean, Sasha and other scouts were already on theirs and ready to go. Levi gave the signal and you we all gone. Your first mission, your first time out on the field. You stared down at your horse,
You were scared, you didn't know what would happen, were you gonna die?! Was this the last time you were going to be alive?! You started to think of a thousand question. "[y/n]!!" Shouted Mikasa, "stay on task!"

"Am I going to die?" You said thinking out loud,

"Don't think that, your going to be fine!" Mikasa said then reached out for your hand, she gave you a warm smile, "please don't think that way, I can't loose my best friend on the first day".

"I'm sorry" you said

"You two! Stay on guard!" Levi shouted, you nodded then continued to travel. Then, it appeared. The wall, the one that you father would talk about all the time, the one that you dreamt of traveling to. Full of Titans or not, the wall was beautiful. You entered the gate to be welcomed with 2 9 metre Titans, two of the solders jumped off their horses and slit both Titans to the ground, "EVERYONE OFF THEIR HORSES AND FIND ANNIE!! EREN STAY WITH ME!!" Levi shouted, we all swung off into the distance, Jean was swinging to the left and Mikasa to the right, Armin wasn't far behind you and Eren and Levi were heading toward a cloud of smoke, "looks like Titan smoke! Head strait to it Yeager" you heard Levi say to Eren. You spotted a Titan, here comes your first kill, you swing by it and slit it's neck, it was deep enough, "I did it" you said to yourself, "I killed one!" You shouted happily as you swung away. "[y/n], watch out!" Shouted someone behind you.

I shouted to [y/n] as a Titan stumbled behind her. But she didn't hear it at the right time, she was suddenly grabbed by the waist, "ARMIN, HELP ME!!" She shouted looking straight into my eyes, I couldn't move. I was frozen, move Armin, move, save her, save her, she's the one you love and your just going to let her get devoured?!
I said to myself, I couldn't move she was getting closer to the mouth and all I could do was watch, who am I? Who am I to sit and watch the one person I ever had feelings for?! "[y/n] please don't die!" I said to myself, the hand suddenly stopped moving, Mikasa slit the neck and saved [y/n]! The Titan dropped its hand leaving [y/n] unconscious, I flew over as fast as I could, hoping she was ok.

"What the hell Armin?!" Was all Mikasa could say, "why didn't you save her?!" Mikasa asked. I tried to hold them back but I couldn't, tears streamed out of my eyes and I fell to the flour in defeat, "I'm sorry, I froze up! I couldn't do it, I tried to move, I honestly did.... I just couldn't!" I said breaking in tears, Mikasa pulled [y/n]'s unconscious body from the Titans grip, she walked over and slapped me across the cheek, "what was that for?!" I shouted even though I knew I deserved it.

"For not saving her, Armin, you have to get your act together, next time could be worse, hopefully she has only suffered minor injuries but next time she could loose a foot, a leg or even die, and I might not be there to save the day, get your act together or just quit the scouts, I don't see the point in joining if you can't kill a Titan! For the last and final time, get your act together!" Mikasa shouted to my face, I walked over to [y/n] who was stuck in a deep sleep.
