CH6: BUT YOUR'E MY BOSS?!

I tried to catch my breathe as I starred back into the green eyes that held mine. "sorry, but I have been wanting to do that all day" james said catching his breathe. "we can't... I can't....I mean... you are my boss!...this better not be the reason you hired me! and you have a girlfriend!" james stepped back..."how do you know about her?" "you mean Alex?... yea we run into each other at your apartment when I had to go get you a new shirt because your clumsy ass couldn't keep the coffee in his cup." "wow....so this 'run in' didn't go so well... I am sorry she is very possessive... it is kind of getting on my nerves." "and apparently I am not your 'type' ...so.. a kiss is all this is" . he starred at me blankly and then seemed to come back to reality, "you're right... a kiss.. that's all". "good" I ran out the door and into the street's hussle and bussle before he could continue a conversation. "shit, tomorrow is gonna be sssoooo awkard" ------------------------------------------------------------------------

I let out a deep sigh as I layed back on my bed... I didn't get much sleep and I did not want to get ready for work. I was half temped to call in sick but james would know it was a lie. I finally managed to make myself get up and get ready.------

I sat down at my desk and tried to avoid him for most of the day. I think he might have been avoiding me because anytime I would back from an errand or break there would be more work on the desk. it was as if he waited for me to leave the desk so he could give me more papers. I tried to focus on work and not that kiss yesterday but even as I shuffled through work my mind still wondered to yesterday. "Alice?" I heard James mumble as he stood in front of my desk. "oh sorry.. was in a daydream I suppose...what you need?" "to talk...meet me in the office in five minutes." he seemed so serious; mad even. 'oh shit what have I done?! am I gonna be fired? no no I can't get fired! I need this job.' my mind was whirling... my palms were sweating I was so nervous. I open and closed the door quietly as I stepped into his office. he swirled his chair around as he faced me. "look, Alice, I am really sorry about yesterday... I don't know what came over me.. it was very unprofessional" I let out a deep breathe. I was just glad I wasn't getting fired. "you ok?", he asked worriedly. "oh yea I just thought you was going to fire me" "oh God no Alice....you are a great assistant...yesterday was completely my fault" "oh" I replied feeling embarrassed. "you get embarrassed easily... I wish you wouldn't do that though". "do what?" I replied blushing even more. "bite your lip..you do it every time you are uncomfortable...it drives me crazy" I released my teeth from my bottom lip just in time to feel his lips on mine again, but this time I didn't resist.
