The last thing she needs right now is for someone else to leave her. She isn't as close with many of her friends as she was before and she can't depend of them all of the time. She can't go to her family because they aren't there to listen. Out of everyone in her life, she's closest to you. You're the one who understands her. She depends on you to be there for her because if it were the other way around she wouldn't leave your side, no matter how crazy you get. She loves you.
This isn't Ellie, but instead it's her good friend. She probably won't notice this until people give her notifications but I just felt like I should share.
