Chapter 19:

(AN: It's been awhile hasn't it. Well the update goal wasn't close to being reached... After 8 days I decided to update.

So the whole guard thing didn't work out well... So I am deleting MLAAGW along with its 10 reads. Haha anyway I have had a sudden idea for a new story. I want to start it as well as this story because I feel it would be really successful. I'm still surprised this one has done so well!

On with Chapter 19! And for those wondering this story will most likely be 50+ chapters. I hope to reach the 100 limit. There's a lot I want to do with this.

Warning: there's some nasty in here. when you get to it feel free to skip it.

Lanie's POV

I open my eyes to find sunshine pouring in through my window. Unable to sleep any longer I get up and prepare to start the day.

Grabbing my rucksack and a change of clothes I strip down and place my robe on my shoulders. Being myself I enjoy bathing daily. Makes me feel better I suppose. Most villagers bathe every other day or so. There are a few that bathe daily as well as myself.

I tug my boots onto my feet and make my way down the hallway towards the living room. I find mother cooking like always.

"Good morning Lanie." My mother smile brightly at me. Something I haven't seen nor excepted after Savannah... Left...

"Morning. What has you so happy?"

"Well it's about time I told you. I've been planning your wedding the last couple months."

Oh yeah. How could I forget the day I give up my life?

"You are going to become Max Iron's wife. A huge honor if I do say so myself." Happiness oozed from my mother.

"Mother I don't-"

"Oh hush up. I know you don't want to get married blah blah blah. Look Lanie this could be good for you. You may like being married and having kids. Maybe you'll even let someone in. You're very closed off." Mother was chopping vegetables as she spoke. Making stew I guess.

"Mother I would marry, but only if I loved the man. I don't want to marry someone just for the fun of it."

"Getting married isn't about love. Hardly anyone loves the man when first married."

"Mother I have no feelings for Max whatsoever. I have only spoken to him a few times." I sat down at the table. I knew this conversation would take awhile.
