Ch.17 Nightmare punch

Everyone was having a great time at Briar's party. And as Ginger was dancing with her friends, she looked at the punch on the table, she couldn't wait to let everyone try it. Soon Briar stood next to the punch with a microphone and the music stopped.

"All right everyone" Briar said into the microphone which woke up Faybelle from her nap on a table "Now it's time for you all to try the new punch that Ginger and Hopper made for all of us. Ginger? Hopper?"

Ginger and Hopper went up to her with smiles on their faces. Faybelle watched with a sneaky look.

"Now tell us about this punch" Briar said to Ginger.

"Well it's called Soulmate Punch" Ginger said "Basically what you do is pour your punch into a cup, and when you look in it, you'll see your soulmate".

"It was my idea" Hopper put in.

"Well that sounds cool" Briar said "Everyone cut a cup and take a look at your soulmate".

Everyone got a cup and started to get some punch.

"Look at this" Ginger said to Hopper "Everyone is excited to try our punch".

"Yeah" he agreed "I can't believe this is actually happening".

"You think-".

But before she could finish, a scream was heard. Everyone turned to Apple who had dropped her punch and had a scared look on her face.

"Apple what's wrong?" Briar asked with a worried look.

"It's-" Apple pointed to the punch "It's- oh my gosh!"

"What the?" Ginger said confused.

Soon another scream was heard, everyone turned to Blondie who had also dropped her punch.

"Oh the horror!" she screamed "The horror!"

"Blondie what's wrong?" Ginger asked with a worried look.

But before she could answer, more screams and shrieks were heard as everyone started to drop their drinks.

"What's going on?" Hopper asked nervously.

"What a good idea frog!" Duchess scowled at him "Now I'm stuck with that awful image in my head!"

"Blondie what did you see?" Ginger asked.

"Oh my gosh" Blondie said as she shook was fear "I saw- I saw myself- I saw myself getting attacked by bears! It was horrible!"

"But how can that be?" Ginger wondered "It was suppose to show your soulmate, did we do something wrong?"

Everyone continued to scream as they dropped their drinks, soon the floor was covered in spilled punch. Just then Hopper looked into the punch and gave a gasp as he dropped his punch.

"Hopper what happened?" Ginger asked.

"Oh my God" he gasped with a scared look "I just saw myself in a shack living all alone with no wife. I'm gonna be a single nerd my whole life!"

"What a good idea Hopper" Sparrow Hood said to him with sarcasm "Now I'm stuck with the image of me being homeless with no money and my guitar gone!"

At that point, Hopper ran out of the party feeling ashamed. Ginger couldn't believe it, she still had no idea what went wrong, she was sure they did the ingredients and directions correctly. So she decided to have a look of her own, she poured herself a cup of punch and looked into it, there she saw herself in a gingerbread house, but instead of making sweets like she always did, she was sitting on a chair munching on something, Ginger looked closer and saw that it was a bone. The image then turned to the side of the chair which showed more bones, including small human skulls! She was looking at her worse nightmare, following her destiny to become the witch that ate children. She gave a shriek as she dropped her punch. She felt her heart pump with fear, now she realized it, the punch was showing everyone their worst nightmares! But she can't seem to think how it happened.

But when she turned around, she spotted Faybelle watching everyone freak out with an evil smile on her face. Ginger knew she had to do something with this. But as everyone started to run out, Faybelle headed towards the door.

"Faybelle!" Ginger shouted with anger as the fairy stopped "Stop where you are!"

"Oo" Faybelle said with a sassy smile "I've never seen you this feisty before".

"What did you do to the punch?" Ginger demanded.

"What makes you think I did something?" Faybelle said sarcastically.

"I don't think" Ginger frowned "I know, you put something in the punch while Hopper and I were getting the cupcakes, now what did you put in the punch?"

"Always blame the dark fairy huh? Well if you must know, I just added some fairy dust, nothing personal. Goodnight".

She then started to head to the door.

"How could you?" Ginger stopped her.

Faybelle turned around and saw that Ginger was trying to hold back her tears.

"You made everyone see their worst nightmares" Ginger said sternly "And mine was just too horrible to watch".

"Oo, what was yours about?" Faybelle asked.

"That doesn't matter" Ginger said sternly "What matters is you caused fear to everyone".

"So?" Faybelle said "That's what I do, I'm a dark fairy, it's my destiny to cause fear".

"Oh yeah? Did you see your worst nightmare?"

"No" Faybelle snickered.

"Well I bet I know what it would of been. You, being powerless, with no friends by your side".

"Well that's harsh".

"It is".

"But I don't care Ginger, I'm just doing what's best for you, now everyone will know you as the witch you are".

"Well maybe I don't want your help! I am choosing my own destiny and you can't change that Faybelle!"

"Well maybe I want to be your friend again!" Faybelle yelled back.

Ginger gasped at what she just said.

"Haven't you gotten the idea why I've been pressuring you to follow your destiny?" Faybelle said with a sad look "Don't you remember how much fun we had when we were kids, I miss that. I've been wanting you to follow your destiny for the sake of us, so we could be friends again, I miss hanging out with you".

Ginger couldn't believe it, all this time Faybelle wanted to be friends with her again.

"And now that you said that you don't care anymore" Faybelle said as she felt her eyes "I guess I will just give up on pressuring you, I hope you'll be happy Ginger".

And with that she flew out the door, leaving a sad Ginger alone.
