Since many of you complained that the conversations are getting confusing, from now on Brittney's parts will be in Bold and the unknown guy, Michael's in Italics.

******

How do you know my name,
Mister?

She typed in her phone, mocking his style. Her phone buzzed in her hand seconds later and she opened the message enthusiastically, presuming it to be another funny reply of his.

But instead of him, it was her mom, stating that they'd come back from their trip the next morning.

Her face fell as she read the text. No, she was definitely happy that her parents were coming back after spending a week at her grandparents house. She was missing them badly, plus it was a hectic job to take care of the house on her own.

But she was still disappointed; she was awaiting that guy's reply.

After several more seconds though, her phone buzzed again.

Again, the shop lady.

She shook her head from side to side in disapproval. Katherine's behavior would never change; she could be manipulated so easily! That old lady gave away her name and number to a stranger just like that!

But strangely, Brittney was not livid with rage this time. In fact a smile crept up her face as she started writing a suitable reply:

Ugh. She'll be the death
of me!

Really? Then why did you call
from her shop?

It's a long story.

I think you had lied to her saying
your phone's gone dead. Because it's
absolutely okay within
half an hour :/

That's none of your business,
stupid!

So is it true, Britney?

It's Brittney.

There was no need to correct him. In fact, she should not have corrected him at all. But she did anyways. Rather it would be safe to say she was enjoying the conversation thoroughly.

In school, she had always been shy and had stayed away from the popular people. She was never in any of the rumors of her school. She was someone whose life mostly got spent in an uneventful manner, in a run-of-the-mill way.

She would not have dared to strike up a conversation with this stranger, or any stranger for that matter. But the day was just bringing odds for her from the start, and it was certainly one of the most happening days of her life.

You're right. It's none of my business.

...

Okay, we solved our misunderstandings.
So..

So..

Bye,
Brittney.

He had written her name correctly this time. But instead of replying anything to him, she just smiled. Maybe this was how the conversation was supposed to end, and there was no need for her to push that boundary.
