I smiled weakly and said hi
My hear stopped as she struggled
he paused and stared
"Hey."
"How have you been?"
"Great, you?" Lie.
"Fantastic." Horrible.
"That's good." Another lie.
Short, bitter, brief
How can I stand this?
I miss him
I miss her
I felt a pang of pain
"So, are you seeing anyone?" Of course she was
I look down and shake my head
I desperately want her in my arms
He looks so happy without me
But she's better off without me
"I'll see you then."
I was reluctant to say "Goodbye."
He definitely won't come back
She's long gone
I turn and walk to the end off the street
I watch her walk away
Long gone,
my love was drained.
