Its finally Friday and I couldn't be happier to get out of that quiet classroom. I was starting to grow tired of the grey haired teacher who'd hit my desk with her ruler ever time she saw my dosing off. Its not my fault that her voice is so monotone that it puts me to sleep.
I don't like private school. Matter a fact, I hate it. The teachers and administration make me feel like I have to be perfect if I want to be anything in life. I'm only in my tenth grade year and I'm already fed up with these required uniforms and strict rules.
"Lauren!" Summer shouts from behind me.
Squinting against the sun, I turn around just as I was about to walk off the sidewalk. Summer, with her wild curly hair pinned up in a bun and uneven knee socks, comes towards me while hiking down her plaid school skirt. She's the oblivious type.
"Hey, we still on for today?" I ask as my fingers tightened around the strap of my shoulder bag. My mom's been getting on me about my dropping grades, so Summer and I set up a study date. She may be unaware of a lot of things, but she knows a lot when it comes to assignments.
She nodded. "Of course, I was looking for you everywhere."
Other students pass us as we stand on the curb gossiping about whatever comes to mind while waiting for her mom. Her mother and mine are very close friends, which is why she said yes to me going home with Summer after school.
"Oh, there he is." She pointed to the black Bentley pulling into the school parking lot. They're a very wealthy family to say the least.
"He?" I asked confused. I was expecting her mother.
"Yeah, my mom has to work, so my dad had to come." She says while clutching her school books to her chest.
The car stopped in front of us and I followed Summer's lead by getting in the back seat. I shut the door behind me and the first thing I saw was a detailed tattoo on the man's hand as it gripped the steering wheel. I've never seen her dad before, but I would of never have guest that he has tattoos.
"Hey, dad." Summer leaned between the leather seats to kiss his cheek. "This is my friend, Lauren. I'm sure mom told you she was coming over."
The man turned around to look at me. I suddenly don't know what to do with my hands, but sit them in my lap. His dark hair and hazel eyes are similar to Summer's. There's a slight tingle in the pit of my stomach that is hard to describe. Not wanting to be rude, I wave at the man.
"Hi." I say.
He just smiled then turned back around in his seat to focus on the road while continuing to glance at me through the rear view mirror.
A/n
No, this is not going to be like "Mr. Malik". In my opinion, it's going to be better.
I'm going to draw this book out and make it longer. I think I'm ready to stop the short stories and make a legit one like "Maid."Hope you enjoy, leave a vote and tell me what you think.💕
