Chase's POV
I sat down on one of the crates and spoke in a soft tone. "Okay, we're all clear. The crew just went to eat."
Adam removed his sunglasses and looked up from where he was on the floor. "If it's veal shank, I'm giving up." He stood up, only to have Bree call his name, forcing him back down.
"So what's our plan?" Bree asked.
I sighed. "Well, as soon as we get to wherever we're going, I guess we just blend in and live normal lives."
"Wait, so does this mean we're done with missions forever?" Adam asked.
"We have to be. Using bionics will only get us caught." He replied. There was a pause between the siblings before I sighed again. "Man, if I'm not mission leader anymore, then I don't know who I am."
Adam patted me on the back. "Hey, don't worry Chase. You'll have plenty of girlfriendless years ahead of you to figure it out."
I winced at his words and immediately thought of Lilly. I was praying and hoping that she, along with Davenport and Tasha were all right. I wouldn't be able to live with myself is something happened to them.
"Yeah, and what are you going to do, except move pianos and mouth-kiss every dog you see?" I questioned.
"What? You can't shake their paws, those things are filthy." Adam defended.
"We're just gonna have to live like regular people." I told them. "Kinda sad, isn't it?"
"If by sad you mean 'Awesome, I finally get to move far away from you two' then yes. Tragic." Bree replied, rolling her eyes.
"You can move wherever you want." I snapped at her. "We're still going to spend the rest of our lives looking over our shoulders."
"Don't be ridiculous, Chase." Adam scoyed. "They can attack us from the front too."
I decided to not respond to that stupid remark. Suddenly, Adam, gasped. "Hey look! I got a bite!" He exclaimed, rushing over to a fishing rod that was leaning against the ships' railing. He started reeling in his catch. "Ah! She's a fighter!""
"Adam, what are you doing?" Bree exclaimed.
"I'm deep sea fishing." He replied. "Come on, baby! Come to daddy!"
Reeling the fish in, Adam used his super strength to completely pull the fish out of the water. What I didn't expect was for the fish to fly towards me, so it landed right in my chest, knocking me over. The door to the cabin opened and the captain stepped out.
"They're coming!" Bree hissed. "Hide!"
Adam and Bree both ran behind the crates while I struggled to get up with the fish on top of me. Once I shoved the fish off me, I ran behind the crates.
The captain walked onto the deck and picked up the fish with one hand. "The poor bugger must have jumped right on board." He threw it overboard. "I can't have a fish stinking up my ship, now can I? Be free!"
And there went our dinner.Lilly's POV
We would be staying in the gym until further notice, and Perry had set up cots for us. I was surprised she wasn't making us sleep on the floor.
Perry sighed. "This takes me back to the good old days in the prison infirmary." She placed a hand over her heart.
"You were a nurse?" Tasha asked skeptically.
"No, I was in prison." She replied. What? "Okay, you kids settle in. I'm going to find some less crusty blankets."
"Is there some place we can store our things?" Tasha asked.
"Sure. You can take the gym locker next to mine." Perry replied. "You might want to wear slip-ones in the shower. I got something in between my toes that just won't quit."
I gagged as she walked out. "This was better than my mothers'?" Tasha asked.
Davenport looked at her. "Yes."
Suddenly, Leo rolled in a bunch of old equipment into the gym. "Good news, Big D. I got some stuff from the computer lab. You can use it to track down Adam, Bree, and Chase's last GPS location."
"Or judging by its age, the last location of King Tut." Davenport said gloomily. "I'm sorry, Leo. I'm just frustrated. Without my stuff, without my lab...this is hopeless."
"Come on, Big D." Leo urged. "You're a tech titan! You built an empire out of nothing!"
He sat down on one of the cots. "But it was so hard!"
"But you did it." I reminded him. "You put your mind to it, so I know you can do it again. You're a brilliant inventor."
"You know what?" Davenport stood up, a smile on his face. "You're right, you guys. I am handsome and brilliant."
Leo frowned. "Hold on. We never-"
"I'm back!" He exclaimed, cutting Leo off. He went right to work on the old computer.Chase's POV
"Guys, we're in luck." Adam announced, walking up to Bree and me. He was holding a large crate.
"You found food?" I gasped.
He shook his head. "Even better." He opened the crate to show them what was inside. "A crate full of boomerangs."
Bree turned to me. "If he should mysteriously disappear at sea, it was me." She said seriously.
Adam grinned and pulled out a few boomerangs. "Time for target practice." He threw them into the sky and used his heat vision to destroy them. He hit all of them except for one. He had hit a seagull.
"Good news Chase, you don't have to worry about that seagull anymore." Adam chuckled.
"Knock it off!" Bree ordered as he threw another boomerang. "We're making too much noise and we all agreed that we weren't going to use bionics."
The of us suddenly noticed that the last boomerang Adam threw was coming back, so they ducked. The boomerang flew over their heads and went right through the window on the door. "Whoa! It's like that boomerang came right back at us!" Adam exclaimed.
Bree and I glared at him as the crew ran onto the deck. "Freeze!" The captain ordered. "Call the coast guard. We've got ourselves some illegal stowaways."
"Guys, I've got this." Adam told his siblings before turning back to the captain. "Sir, we are not stowaways, we are cruisers. I'm Bob Dunwoody from Tampa, Florida. This is my wife, Joan," He put an arm around Bree. "And our lovely daughter, Piper."
I glared at him. "Adam!"
"Not now, Piper. The grown-ups are talking." He told him, turning back to the captain.
The captain was not amused. "Look, I don't know who you are or how you got on my ship, but the coast guard's coming and they'll find out." He turned to his crew members. "Keep an eyes on these criminals."
"So, where are you from?" Adam asked.
"Adam, I cannot believe you got us caught!" Bree exclaimed.
"When the coast guard gets here, they're going to trace us back to Davenport and we'll be right back where we started with the FBI knocking on our door!" Chase snapped.
"Calm down! We'll just escape." Adam said.
Bree crossed her arms over her chest. "We're in the middle of the ocean. Where are we going to do?"
"Well, we can't go home." Adam said. "Tampa's miserable this time of year."
Suddenly, there was a loud alarm that's started blaring. "Shh. Hold on." I shushed my siblings. "Something's wrong."
"Listen up, men." The captain walked out. "The coast guard's going to be a while. There's a submarine that lost control and is speeding towards the ocean floor. If it hits, it'll wipe out the entire crew." He sighed. "Poor guys." He went back to his cabin, mumbling something about moisturizing.
"Okay, that bought us some time." I told my siblings. "I'll scan the ship to see if there's a life raft we can escape on."
Adam and Bree stared at him. "Forget us. We have to rescue that sub."
"We can't. I'd have to enable my GPS and if I did, it would give our location to the FBI." I explained.
"But it's what we do." Bree argued.
"It's what we used to do." I corrected. "Just let the coast guard handle it. We can't save the world anymore!"Lilly's POV
While Davenport tried to figure out how to locate Adam, Bree, and Chase's last GPS signal, Leo went on a search to try and find internet access. Since I couldn't really do anything, I just lied down on my cot, staring up at the ceiling.
Leo walked back into the gym. "Principal Perry was hogging the internet in her office, so I snuck in, plugged in our wire instead." He said. "Turns out she's a day trader for the Japanese stock market."
Davenport quickly accessed the internet and started tracking his kids GPS signals from their last known location. "That did it. We are now able to pinpoint their exact location when they turned off their GPS."
He looked at Leo. "You know, Leo, with my genius and your ability to follow wiring, we make a great team."
I rolled my eyes and Perry strolled in, a wire in her hand. "Did you three snag my internet?"
"Principal Perry, we just-"
"Get out of my way, gym-squatters." She shoved Leo out of the way, cutting him off. "My online auction is about to close."
She looked back at screen and cheered when the winner sign popped up. "Whoo-hoo! I got it! Guess who owns a slaughter house?"
She looked at Davenport, pointing a finger at him. "This stuff ain't cheap. Get me my money." She walked away and both boys stood there in shock and disgust before returning back to the computer.
"Their last known location was at the port." Davenport told us. "They must have jumped on a ship."
"This said that there were three fraters that left around the same time." Leo said, looking at the screen. "They must be on one of them!"
"Douglas may already have a jump on us." Davenport said. "We have to act fast."
"But even if we knew which boat they were on, how are we going to get to it?" I questioned.
Davenport looked at us, a creepy grin on his face. "I have a secret. I have a helicopter stashed away for special occasions and nobody knows about it!"
We smirked and Leo said, "We know, we use it on weekends!"
He groaned and I said, "I'm coming with you."
He replied, "No, you need to stay here and rest."
I replied, "No, I'm going and nothing you can say or do will stop me."
He replied, "There won't be enough room for your wheel chair."
I replied, "We're wasting time, I'm going with you and that's that."
He groaned and we went out to my car driving to his helicopter.
