Maybe because she had already developed feelings for him?? She knew that she shouldn't have. Not because he was wrong for her but there were so many other reasons.
1) he already loved someone else. And it would have been wrong for her to tell him about her feelings and make things difficult for him. She would never want to put him in such a situation.
2) She had her own past. Which had not only destroy her but the others also.
3) She had developed feelings for him too quickly and if she would have told him he wouldn't have believed her.
