You couldn't believe it when you started dating. You couldn't believe it when you made it through the first year, then the second, and now, the third. You woke up and blush upon seeing Jiyong beside you. His messy hair and tired pout made your heart race.
"Happy anniversary, Beautiful." He smiles and plays with the ends of your hair. You pull the covers over your blushing face. "We've been together for three years now. Why are you still blushing like that?"
"It's embarrassing when you say things like that," you throw the covers off, unable to breathe and Jiyong laughs. He kisses your head and sits up with a groan. He reaches over to the nightstand and grabs a little gift.
"Ta-da!"
"I thought we agreed we weren't doing gifts!"
"I know, but I wanted to give you this. Three years is a big accomplishment for idol relationships." You frown and take the box from him. "What is this?" You ask, scoffing in disbelief.
"It's a promise ring. I had my mom help me pick it out." You continue to scoff, unable to find the words to answer him. "I know we promised on no gifts this year, but I really wanted to give this to you." He reaches over and puts the ring on your finger. "It looks good. Save that finger for me, okay?" You squeal and hug him tightly.
"I will!"
"Ah. It's already eight..." You spring up out of bed and run around the room frantically.
"Oh my God! Why didn't you tell me? I'm going to be late!" Jiyong leans back against the headboard with his hands on his lap watching you run around the room.
"Why don't you take the day off?"
"I want to but we're so busy right now."
"You've hardly been home lately. Today's an important day too." You stand at the bedroom doorway with a guilty look on your face.
"It's a busy season for us at work. I already asked my boss to let me leave early, but he said he needs all hands on deck. I'm sorry. I promise I'll try to-" Jiyong gets out of bed and puts his hand on your head.
"Have a good day at work."
-
"Please! It's our anniversary and this morning he seemed so upset. Just an hour early, please..." You were on your knees, begging your boss. He sighs and waves his hand.
"Go. You can leave now." You look up at him at his desk and smile. You stand up and run over, grabbing his hand and jumping up and down.
"Thank you, thank you, thank you!" Without wasting another second you run out of the office. You called Jiyong, making sure he was home. When he didn't answer you assumed he had fallen asleep. He was just as busy as you these days.
You entered the house quietly and immediately noticed a pair of heels that were not your own. You bit your lip and tried to convince yourself it was nothing. You headed towards the bedroom and stopped in front of the closed door. You could hear the muffled sounds coming from inside. Your mind ran wildly as you reached out for the door handle. You hoped that it was just your imagination, but as the door flew open you couldn't deceive yourself any longer. Another woman was in your bed, in the arms of your boyfriend.
Jiyong looks up and your eyes meet. He could see your heart shattering as you stood there motionlessly. He lets go of the woman in his arms and stares back at you.
"What's wrong?" She turns around and sees you. She gasps and moves away from Jiyong, pulling the sheets up to cover herself. Your emotions were going crazy as you started to laugh through your tears.
