Isabel's POV

I picked up a old rusty book from one of the shelves and flipped it to the first page, which was called The Bloody River.

"What's the Bloody River?" I asked Timmy, which made him pale.

I frowned in confusion. Okay, I know the name is quite strange, and I also know that Timmy has a huge phobia of blood, but it's not like we're standing right beside it... right?

"Let's go," Timmy muttered, and I didn't press on the subject.

I don't like stealing, but I quietly slipped the book into my bag, promising that I would bring it back sooner or later. It's not like anyone was here anyways, so I was pretty confident that no one would realize one old book was missing.

"Where to?" I questioned Timmy, who was holding the address.

"793 Andsell Terrace," he replied, and marched swiftly out the door.

Don't ask me why, I decided to hang around in the musty library. Probably because I felt like there was something wrong about... everything. I walked into the Kid's Room, where Timmy was hyperventilating earlier. Wondering what was wrong with that, I peeked inside, and frowned.

"What kind of Kid's Room is this?" I demanded out loud.

No one replied, thankfully. If someone did, I would totally start running around screaming. Tiptoeing around, I tried to look for any clue which would explain what the heck happened here. Finding nothing, I turned around, hitting my toe on something hard. Gasping in pain, I bent down, and sneezed because of the dust. Once the dust fell down again, I saw a faded post it note on the ground. Picking it up, I brought it to the other end of the room, which was lighter. It read:

Hurry, the Cloaked Man is back, need to bring kids out.

What's the Cloaked Man? I wondered, folding the note in half.

I'll show it to Timmy later on. But now, we have some biking to do.

Timmy's POV

Boy was I glad to get out of that creepy library! It usually wasn't like this; they always have huge security cameras everywhere and all. I was surprised that an alarm didn't go off. But what is Isabel doing? I know she likes libraries, but couldn't she hurry up a bit?! At that moment, Isabel came running out the door.

"Glad you could make it," I muttered sarcastically.

She didn't even roll her eyes at me, which is strange... Oh well, must be the fact that we're going to bust into her dad's old home which is making her feel nauseous. I feel a bit sick myself, but vomiting in the Bloody River? No thanks. We made out way back towards the bikes, which was thankfully still where we left them.

"So, Timmy, do you know the way?" Isabel asked casually, trying to make a conversation.

I shrugged.

"That's what a phone is meant for," I replied, snatching out my phone.

"Oh yes, that's exactly what I'mo going to use to convince my parents to get me a phone," she started sarcastically, "Imagine the conversation: "Mother, father, could I please have a smartphone," I'll beg. "Give us a reason why it's a good idea," my father would command. I'll shrug and reply: "Well, if I ever get stuck in a unknown city and I need to find my way to my dead grandmother's old home, I could totally use the GPS thingy on the phone." Totally convincing."

I laughed.

"Don't worry, I'll back you up," I declared.

Isabel rolled her eyes.
