"This place is beautiful." I saw, gawking at the sights of the park we ended up in.

Julian shrugs. "Apart from the homeless dudes passed out on benches, yeah, you could say it's pretty nice, I guess."

"Shut up and hold my hand." I grab his hand and shake my head. "Jules?"

"Yeah?"

"I wanna get drunk again. Can we get drunk again?"

"What, why?"

"I dunno. It was fun...apart from this morning."

Julian pulls his wallet out of his pocket and frowns. "Forgot Albert took most of my cash this morning. Can't buy much."

"Oh. That's okay."

"But I do have this?" he takes a little baggie of cocaine out of a pocket in his wallet and raises an eyebrow. "There's other ways to get fucked up, you know?"

"Shit. Cocaine? Really?"

"Yep." he nods. "Wanna bump?"

"Couldn't hurt to try." I shrug.

"Right on." Julian quickly pours a small amount on the back of his hand an snorts it.

"Wait, stop!"

Too late.

"What?"

"We're getting high on our first real date?!"

"You wanted to!" he watches me frown to myself. "Jade, I wouldn't have fucking snorted it if you spoke up sooner."

"Shit." I kick the dirt and sigh. "Look, I'll just enjoy this date and you do the same...'til it kicks in, obviously."

"It already has and I feel like a shit person now."

"Jules, it's not your fault I make decisions literally at the last second." I stop and pull him into a hug. "Let's just enjoy this okay?"

"Just have some won't I feel bad?" he says as I pull away.

I think for a while and then nod. "I've never tried it before. Does it like...hurt when you snort it?"

"Nah!" Julian takes my hand and tips some out. "Try get it all in one go."

"I, uh..."

He stares down at me with a sincere look. "You don't have to if you don't want to."

"This stuff's bad, Jules." I look at the white powder on my hand and sigh. "Do you...do you do this often?"

"Barely." he can tell I'm really worried. "I'm not addicted or anything, I swear, babe!"

I shrug and look away. "I don't think I wanna do it."

"That's okay." he scrapes it off my hand back into the baggie. "Are you alright?"

I force a smile and look up at him. "Y-Yeah... Let's go somewhere else."
