a/n Hey guys! I know I haven't updated in forever- my computer broke- but it's fixed now so here you go. It's my first Gabriel one so it's not great but I hope you like it anyway. Please don't forget to tell me what you think in the comments or you can message me because I love talking to you guys. Enjoy! ~ Niamh

Imagine: Gabriel was your best friend, he loved you more than anything in the world, and you loved him. One day, you got a phone call from Sam Winchester, saying that Gabriel was dead.

*Phone call*

Sam: Hello? Uh, Y/N?

You: What can I do for ya' Sam?

Sam: I just wanted to talk. Make sure you were doing okay...

You:... I'm fine. Why wouldn't I be?

Sam: Well, it's just, I know how much Gabriel meant to you and how upset you must be but I was thinking tha-

You: What are you talking about?

*Silence from the other end of the line*

You: Sam! Tell me what's happened! Where's Gabe? Is he hurt?

Sam: Y/N... I'm sorry. I thought you knew-

You: Knew what?

Sam:... Gabriel's dead... Lucifer killed him four weeks ago. I just thought someone would have told you by now. Or you'd sensed it, maybe?

You:... I... How? Why didn't you tell me sooner?!

Sam: Look, I'll come to get you. You can stay with me and Dean for a while.

You: No! You... You leave me alone! Don't call me again.

Sam: Please, Y/N. Wait!

You: Just... Leave me alone, Sam.

*You hang up*

You knew Sam and Dean would come looking for you, despite your protests. The pain of thinking you were never going to see Gabriel again was unbearable. It was as though someone had ripped your heart out and torn it to shreds. What would you do without him? You didn't know. So, after a few- seven- beers, you packed up your things and headed for Kansas. The boys were in Missouri and they thought you were in Jackson, where you and Gabriel had an apartment. That gave you sometime to get ahead of them. A friend of your's lived in Lebanon which is where you were planning to stay for a little while.

You were used to travelling, you'd grown up on the road with your uncle, Bobby- he was your legal guardian. You had been orphaned when you were just six years old. You and him were like two peas in a pod, always able to make each other smile. Bobby had always tried to sheild you from the world of hunting, but that was difficult for him. He taught you everything you needed to know when you were a kid in case you ran into trouble. Of course you loved working with Bobby, taking calls and doing research, but it got boring, so when you turned twenty-one, you decided to leave. You wanted to experience the world and give yourself some space. It broke his heart, but he knew he had to let you go. You promised him you'd come back. It wasn't long before you got tangled up with some hunters and a particularly sadistic vengeful spirit. Those hunters were named Sam and Dean Winchester. Something about them made you want to learn more about monsters. Bobby had warned you to stay away from other hunters though, because he didn't want you to be in danger. But what he didn't know wouldn't kill him, right? Though it almost killed you. The boys liked having you around, so they invited you to travel with them. On your adventures, you'd had several close calls, but you were never seriously injured. You weren't sure why, you just felt like someone was looking out for you. You were right. And that someone was Gabriel. He'd initially only wanted to mess with Sam and Dean, but when he saw you, he was dumbstruck. Gabriel thought you were the most beautiful being his father had ever created. And he wanted to make sure you were safe. He watched over you for nearly four months before revealing himself. From the moment you saw him, you knew that he was special, that he cared. The two of you became almost inseperable; playing tricks, hunting- you two were the perfect troublemakers. Then one day, Gabriel told you that he had to leave. You were heartbroken, then he asked you to go with him, spend your life with him. Obviously you said yes, but Sam and Dean weren't happy about it. You lived your lives the same as before, just, with a place to call your own. That's when things started to get complicated. Talk of Lucifer rising again put Gabriel on edge, he became irritable, sometimes shouted, and just wasn't the same as before. He knew he was scaring you. Thinking it would keep you safe, he disappeared one night. He left a note saying that he was going to 'clean up his mess' and 'stand up for what's right'. You never saw him again...
