I sat still, looking down on the vanity desk as Hanabusa curled my hair. Studying the ancient brushes and hair pins, I noted their value and for what reason they would be stuck to my hair. For a ball.
An introduction of Yuki and I to society. A peace gathering of vampires and vampire hunters. Everyone was going to be there. Purebloods, Aristocrats, regular vampires, vampire haters, vampire hunter teachers.....and more.
Smoothing out my silver dress, I attempted to look up but Hanabusa caught on before I could and he pushed my head back down. "Ak!" He said, his voice imitating a buzzer, "You have to be patient, Rose. I'm not done yet."
I puffed my cheeks, "You've been working at this thing for hours,"
I sensed his wide smile, "You mean 7 minutes? I know, it's been forever hasn't it?"
I smiled, but to myself, almost sadly, "I wish." I said in a mocking tone but I pursed my lips soon after, not being able to smile with the hidden message.
If only I could spend eternity with all of my friends still at my side.
"Well, after this eternity, we have a ball to attend to. Everyone will be there." Hanabusa said.
The air reeked of my hair being heated, Hanabusa's blood, his shampoo, my shampoo, fresh clothes...."Ugh," I said, "Don't remind me,"
A pause. Then Hanabusa, as blunt as could be, said, "You know, you've been an awful lot cheerier after a talk with Kaname.....did something...... supposedly..... happen between you two or...."
I smiled, "Yeah."
But as soon as I let the words go, I realized what Hanabusa meant, "Wait! No! I take thar back! Noooo!"
Hearing Hanabusa laugh, I became loud, "No! Erase that! Nothing happened."
"Don't sound too suspicious then," He said. I gapped, having no reply to that, "But.....I swear, he and I just talked. Sums it up..." I smirked at him, even though he couldn't see, "...unless you were looking for the part where we made invites together by candlelight,"
"Well duh, how else would he get melted wax?" Hanabusa said, "Don't start this with me, you can't be as romantic as Kaname,"
"Whom I was with," I stuck my tongue out slightly, biting it and smiling mischievously.
"Of course, I already know. Kaname is as romantic than you are unromantic."
"That's not even a word, unromantic?" I scoffed, knowing that I used it all the time.
I felt him put locks of my hair in an updo, leaving the front part loose, spilling over my shoulder. The curls on my hair were elegant and well done.
"It's a word when it's applied to you, put together puzzle pieces of different puzzles, you might be able to visualize what we see you as. A mess."
"But's it's cool anyways isn't it? Because all those pieces fit perfectly together." I complimented myself.
"Right," he said, "and no one knows how you do it"
"Easy, it's called cut and paste and force." I laughed.
Hanabusa chuckled, then lifting my chin so I could look in the mirror, "Viola!"
I smiled at the wonderful hair style given to me. I remembered having this hair style at Takuma's birthday party, but not as pretty. I glanced downward, Takuma and Jason....they'll be there.
My heart ached and my thirst grew worse. My chest felt like it was going to collapse. I missed him.
I really, really, much more than I can explain, missed him.
