Well, they're a little too close for the yandere of your story to be comfortable with allowing their existence. They must die, and painfully at that~ especially if they're not the same gender as the main character.
Now, whether or not the yandere plays show-and-tell with the MC immediately after or waits until the final psychotic snap at the end of the story to reveal the horrendous deed... That's completely up to you.
