Melissa, also known as Mel or Millie, is an old friend of Taylor's from middle school. Ever since they have entered high school, the two grew apart as they associated with different crowds. Although they still greet each other in the hallway, it has been what feels like forever since the two have held a real conversation or even seen each other outside of school walls.
Curious at nature, she often finds herself put in awkward predicaments she must manage to squeeze out of. It doesn't help that her father is the town's sheriff, so the inquisitive instinct must run in her blood. She is also on the newspaper staff with Marc, Taylor's boyfriend, who is often hassling her about her insights into his relationship with Taylor.
