Chapter Six

Maya’s POV

The last lunch bell rings and Liam and I make our way to our last period. I don’t really want to go at all. This entire project is so stupid. I honestly have no idea what I’m supposed to learn from this. I mean I already know enough about him. He’s a stupid, annoying, cocky, jock that I don’t want to talk to. When Liam and I get to the classroom I don’t walk in. I just stand right outside the door and contemplate my options.

“You know we’re going to have to go in eventually.” Liam whispers in my ear and I look up to meet his puppy dog brown eyes.

“Or... We could just skip.” I smile and Liam shakes his head.

“No.”

“Come on Li! I know you don’t want to be here either!” I whine but he still shakes his head.

“No. It’s just one more hour. And then we will be out of here.”

“I hate you.” I mumble while walking into the class only to hear Liam laughing behind me.

“Love you too Maya.” I take my seat and roll my eyes at Liam waiting for Niall to run through the door right as the bell rings.

And just like clockwork, the late bell rings and Niall strolls in giving a wink to the teacher. I roll my eyes as he takes his seat across from me with his smug smile. I pull out my notebook and am surprised when he pulls out a piece of paper and a pen.

“So someone comes prepared today?”

“Oh I always come prepared.” Niall smirks and try my hardest not to laugh.

“Wow.”

“What?”

“Obviously you have the mind of a twelve year old boy.” I smirk and Niall glares at me.

“No I don’t.”

“And you argue like one.”

“I think I like you better when you don’t talk.” He mumbles under his breath and I kick his knee. “Ouch!”

“And I don’t like you at all.”

“That’s a lie.” Niall leans back in his seat and cocks an eyebrow at me.

“And why is that?”

“Because I’m Niall Horan. Everyone likes me. Even if you hate me, you like me.” He smiles and I start laughing.
