Harry’s POV
An entire week. That’s how long it has been since I’ve spoken to Layla. I don’t care if I’m coming off as stubborn either. She came to my place of work and showed up wit her ex. Out of all people her fucking ex. I’ve trying my best to avoid her. Which isn’t that hard during school, since I’m still a nerd and she’s still a troublemaker. I’ve even been avoiding our tutor sessions after school. I just tell the principle I have to work right after school, which isn’t a complete lie. I just don’t have to work straight after school. But much to my dismay, he caught on. That’s why I’m in the library right now, with Layla.
“So what did you get for number seven?” She asks while holding a calculator up to her face.
“3X-5 all over 12.”
“I didn’t get that.” Layla sighs and tosses her calculator on the table.
“That’s because you did something wrong.” I mumble harshly earning a glare from Layla.
“Oh my god! Will you get the fuck over it!” She yells and we both get a harsh stare from the librarian.
“I don’t know what you are talking about.” I spit back.
“Yes you do! You’ve been avoiding me for a whole week Harry.” Layla glares and I roll my eyes.
“Like you even cared. You were probably shacking up with Ed right?” I scoff and before she can speak I cut in. “You know what? Let’s cut this tutor time short. I’m pretty sure you’re needed by something... or someone else.”
“Harry...”
“Oh and by the way, you factored wrong. That’s why you got the wrong answer.” I turn on my heels and walk out the library doors.
I get to my car and begin driving to my home. I decided to call off from work today. I just lied and told them I had an important project to do. I really have been lying a lot lately. Maybe Layla’s ways are rubbing off on me. I finally get home and see my mom. She’s dressed for work and I forgot she has to take the night shifts for this week.
“Oh. Harry. I wasn’t expecting to see you until the morning.” I smile and give my mom a peck on the cheek.
“Yeah, I had to call out today. Wasn’t feeling so well.” Again with the lying.
“I’m sorry. I wish I could stay home with you but...”
“I know mom, you have to work. I will see you in the morning. Okay?” I smile and she nods.
“Okay. Bye baby. Love you!” She gives me a kiss and walks out the door.
I walk up to my room and fall on my bed. I’m actually really exhausted. I don’t know if it’s from school or the fact that this whole thing with Layla is draining me. I shouldn’t care if she’s back with her ex. Trust me, I understand that. But I do. And it sucks. I figure out that me thinking about this won’t change anything and catch up on some much needed sleep.
I don’t know how long I was out, when I hear a knock at the door. I groan and roll out of the bed. I lazily walk down the stairs and hear that the banging is louder. My temper rises. Not only did this person wake me up, they are being rude. I yank the door open and see her.
“What are you doing here?” I ask through my teeth.
“You know you have some nerve Harry.” Layla speaks and brushes past me, into my home.
“Sure you can come in.” I speak under my breath closing the door and she glares at me.
“Stop!”
