His bag heavy in his hand,

His heart heavier in his chest,

Things did not go as planned,

He didn't know what to do next.

When he realised he loved him,

It was as soon as he left,

It was a funny thing,

As now he is a mess.

He should have stopped him quicker,

"I don't want you to leave."

The feeling made him feel sicker,

"I'm begging you, please."

But deep down he knew,

Past the feelings and the dreams,

What would his pleading do?

"He could never love me."

Things aren't the same anymore,

He seems to be moving on,

And though they're still friends,

It feels like he's gone.

Their apartment is being given away,

To someone who doesn't know,

That one of them wanted them to stay,

And the other wanted to go.

He wishes he knows what his friend is thinking,

He wants to believe he's thinking of him,

But once again come those feelings,

And he doesn't know where to begin.

He told himself he was fine,

When he wanted to kiss him goodbye,

But he knew that he wasn't,

And he knew that it was a lie.

It was all he wanted,

It was the best,

But now he's alone,

And it's been cold since he left.

After all his friend,

May not love him back,

And it may be the end,

But they're right on track.

Determination fills him,

And he stands up and sprints,

He's going to tell him how he feels,

He doesn't miss a blink.

And it seems that he's right on time,

Because his friend is walking away,

He runs by his side,

"I just want you to stay."

His friend blinks in shock,

And shakes his head,

"I'm moving around the block."

"I wish you'd stay instead."

And suddenly he drops all his bags,

He grabs his hand,

"I never wanted to leave,

Let's get the apartment back now."

And they kiss and it's almost like everything is bright,

And everything is new,

Because now everything feels right,

And they've just said, "I do."
