"Help! Someone help!" Yelled Zack. 'What's the point' thought Zack as he pushes himself pasts all the shrubs and branches in his way as he runs through the forest. 'No ones gonna find me in time.'

Someone, no, something was chasing zack. Not on the ground but in the sky. A large unnatural circular body floated above Zack with the hum that sounded mechanical. 'A hovercraft' he decided.

Up ahead was a sewage drain. Zack dives into the storm drain. He crawled farther and farther in to the storm drain until he couldn't see the light of the moon. Then he decides he's far enough way from the outside world to rest. Still recovering from crawling his hand bumps into someone. He turns around slowly and get's punches in the nose.

He screams are muffled when a hand covers his mouth.

"Damit Zack, you nearly scared me to death."

It was Joy. Zack had never been more happier in his life to see someone. He hugged her. Finally Joy said she would tell him all about what happened to her in the morning. Joy fell asleep the minute her head hit the ground. He listens to the sound of Joy's breathing until it becomes even. Then his thoughts drift off to how he ended up in this situation.

It all began two days ago right after school. Zach an his best friend Joy were walking home. They decided to take the shortcut home through the forest.

"Are you ready for the test in language arts?" Asked Joy.

"Nope. Didn't even wright down the notes but, my parents don't care so why should I?" Replied Zack.

"Because you should care if you plan on going to Harvard." Joy said as she brushed a branch aside. Joy was a tall girl for her age. About the same height as Zack but, Zack was a little bit taller. She had dark brown curly hair that swayed when she walked. It was always put up in a ponytail but, if she left it down it would reach her shoulders but never went further. She had dark brown eyes and freckles. She was very beautiful and funny and could intrigue an audience and carry a meeting with the best. She is not one to draw attention to herself, yet her personality is very contagious.

'It's true.' Zack wanted to be an oncologist when he grew up. The best college, Zack thought, was Harvard.

"Fine." Snapped Zack-he hated when Joy was right- "I have to go..." Zack saw something gleam in the distance it was sticking out of the ground.

"Zack? are you okay?" replied Joy nearvously.

'I'm scaring her' he thought. "Yeah, I'm fine. Just lost my train of thought, as i was saying i have to go study for the test tomorrow." Zack said in a distracted tone.

As they emerged from the forest Zack asked Joy if she wanted to come over for dinner but, with the big test tomorrow she declined the offer.

Once he got home his mom greets him. She was in the kitchen making supper. She was short for her age with grayish-brown hair and hazel eyes. Zach looks more like his dad than his mom in his opinion but his mom says he looks like her more. 'My dad left when I was three. So maybe I do look more like my mom than my dad.' He decided it wasn't worth arguing over.

After, Zack made sure Joy was gone he told his mom he'd be home before supper and headed back to the forest. He wanted to find out what that thing was.

As he approached the place he saw the object, he heard a banging sound. Very slowly he crouched and crawled behind some branches. He was close enough to the object he could touch it.

He saw someone in a hoodie which was ridiculous because it was in Arizona and the temperature was 108•F. He couldn't see the persons face but he knew who it was.
