HATE BETWEEN MUSLIMS AND NON-MUSLIMS

Hate is something we Muslims face on a regular basis, especially when we live among Non-Muslims. Whether it's because you wear the hijab, or you don't eat/drink certain things, or just because you're different, some people will judge you for what you do and they might hurt you verbally or physically. Nowadays, whenever ISIS claims responsibility for an attack in the West, Westerners immediately assume we Muslims had something to do with it and they treat us like scum.

How do we deal with that?

We should not respond to the hate with hate, because fire does not extinguish fire. We should respond with peace, and try to explain to the ignorant what they don't understand.

The good deed and the evil deed cannot be equal. Repel [the evil] with one which is better; then verily he between whom and you there was enmity [will become] as though he was a closed friend.

(Surah Fussilat, Ayah 34)

One way of calling people unto Allah is to erase tensions and do good in return for the evil acts committed by others. That's why I love this ayah (and Surah) so much, because you're not only helping the world become a better peaceful place, but you're also giving da'wah to Non-Muslims by showing them the good manners of a Muslim.

Also, don't let the hateful words sadden you. Remember, some people always try to deny the truth, because they're scared of it. So when you hear people denying our faith, don't despair because it's only a confirmation of the truthfulness of Islam.

HATE AMONG MUSLIMS

This time, the reasons for hate are much more diverse, but they're not good reasons. Why become enemies of one another? Aren't there enough Non-Muslims who hate?

The Ummah is in such a bad state right now. We are all divided by sects, nationalities, skin color that we don't even realise the disunion of the Ummah has caused it to be very vulnerable.

The answer to hate among Muslims is to STOP right there and realise we are all one family. Family members have fights, that's normal, but at the end of the day we forgive each other and move on.

QUESTION OF THE CHAPTER

What do you usually do when you recieve hate? I usually ignore it, but it hasn't really worked out for me.

I put Surah Fussilat with English translation above the title. This time, the reciter (qari') is Saad Al-Ghamidi. I usually listen to Mishary Al-Afasy but I thought I'd try someone new!
