New York, New York! They say it's the place where dreams come true. But for me, right now, I hated it. I wasn't enjoying life in England. But leaving all my family and my friends and travelling half way round the globe to live is taking it a little to far. Just a little bit.
I'd always dreamed of living in some really expensive posh house somewhere abroad. The sun on my face, a nice tan. But not yet! That was for later life. I didn't want to leave England. I wanted to play football for Portsmouth and live along the coast.
Then I'd maybe move abroad. I could still make a fortune but not my dream.
Anyway, they say to get on with your life as it happens so what do I do now. Wait. Yep good idea. I can't do much anyway I'm in a taxi heading for some unknown house or probably a run down old barn scene as my dad is so tight (real life too).
As we drive, I try and take in all of the sights that we go past but none seem to catch my eye. Playing music takes you into a mind of your own I guess. Even when we go over the Golden Gate Bridge I'm still not interested. Probably because I wasn't listening to my dad droning on about how famous it was. Now that's boring.
Eventually, we pull over at the foot of a tall apartment block on eleventh street. Looks decent enough but right now I need food. A lot of food!
We kept walking around New York with a fresh breeze not so much brushing our skin than punching us in the face. The wind was so harsh, we had to dive into some random building. Luckily, it actually was a cafe. Bit fucking convenient. We sat down and placed our orders. Then I realised it had wifi. My heart halved its pace and the relaxing feeling coursed through me like a huge burden lifted off of my shoulders. Right now what to do.
I've got no fucking idea. Lied, I've got a good one. Message Lucy. She has to know.

M: Hey Lucy xxx
L: Hey Gorgeous xxx
M: Listen there's something I've gotta tell u xxx
L: what is it xxx
M: well...
L: gowan you can tell me anything xxx
Shit this is the most difficult thing I've ever had to do.
M: ok well my dad kinda made us immigrate to America and I don't think I'm gonna come back. I'm soooooo sorry Lucy. I knew nothing about it. We still have to stay in touch tho. I'm gonna miss you soooooooooo much xxxx
L: omg I'm gonna miss you sooooooooo much too. I'm happy for you but we didn't get to say goodbye or anything. As long as one day you come back xxxx
M: Babe I'll be looking forward to that day xxxx

Unfortunately, it didn't turn out to be that simple.
