Ok so I admit, my fears are ridiculous and stupid and emm childish, but I'm a wimp. Get over it.Stepping into the room, it is literally a warehouse. A few boxes here and there but otherwise it's empty of anything important, from what I can see anyway. Every corner is light, the light coming from where - I don't know, except from one. It is completely black and the furthest one from me. I would admit, that freaks me out. I start to whimper as I feel the door shut behind me. I don't dare turn around as I stand alone in the room. Why am I here again?
Scared? My subconscious mind says.
No, I reply scared.Suddenly a hand clasps my shoulder and I shriek, jumping up into the air and come down full force making me fall to the ground just as a hand clamps over my mouth. I beyond freaked. Suddenly looking up I see ... Harv. Oh yeah that's why I came here. I breathe in and out of my nose trying to keep my heart beat down. I don't understand why I am so freaked out- it's not right. Looking back up into Harv's eyes, they portray worry as he lifts me up effortlessly and puts me in the chair I only just realised was there. He puts his hands on my knees and stairs into my eyes.
"Tee, are you ok? I didn't know you would be that scared, I thought you knew I was behind you. I'm sorry I scared you like that." He whispers in a rush to me. Through all he said I was captivated by his eyes, until I look away and see all the guys around me staring at me with the same amount of worry even Toby. I haven't realised until now that I was shaking and breathing heavily. I try to slow down my breathing and stop my shaking but it's stupid, I just can't stop. I don't know what it is but I know I'm not scared anymore. I know that for sure.
I go to stand up, hating the attention on me but when I do my legs collapse under me and just as my bum is about to touch the ground arms wrap around my waist and pull me up and pull me towards a body.
"Octavia, what is wrong? I didn't scare you that much did I?" I turn to face Harv and see the look of pure horror all over his face. He feels guilty, I know it.
"I'm not scared, I don't know what is happening but I'm not scared." And with that I turn my head to see Toby is holding me up. Hmm strange.
"We can't tell boss about her, he won't approve. We can't bring a girl into our group. You know the rule - no new people unless boss chooses them." Toby says and pulls me closer to him as if he doesn't want me to go.
"Well then we make boss choose her." Jake suggests with a cheeky grin. You would not believe these guys are 20. Well, I guess they are. I don't actually know, well that's a question to ask them later.
"He won't do that and you know it. We can't bring her here, he will spot her. I mean he is here right now. She shouldn't be here." And as he says that a door opens. They all turn around to face the door and make a line in front of me. I go to move forward but Toby keeps me behind him with his hands on my hips, drawing circles with his thumb. What is he doing?
I keep my head down but my hands start to shake more and my breathing becomes shallow and slow. What is happening to me? I know that if Toby didn't have his arms on my hips my body would have slumped to the ground.
The footsteps get closer to the group and One of them moves slightly forward and gives the guy a manly hug. Well I think that is what he does, but at the moment I'm not focusing on that, Im focusing on my breathing.
It's getting worse and before I know it I start to see black dots. I said it before and I will say it again, I know that if Toby didn't have his arms on my hips my body would have slumped to the ground. I hear this mystery guy speak for the first time.
"I'm leaving now, I probably won't be back till tomorrow. So I guess..." Before he can even finish that sentence I black out.
- Toby's POV -
With the firm grasp on her hips I watch as Aiden walks towards us. He is a great friend but sometimes I wonder if he is more about the business side then our friendship. He is probably saying he's leaving for a day or two like he normally does. He goes off to do whatever it is he does. We don't even know and we are in his group. We normally don't do much, he does most of the work and gives us some money but what we do isn't to bad. We make sure our area is kept our area and on the side we race well some of us anyway. I do, I'm one of the best on my motorbike. Some of them are just here because we are all friends, like Harvey and James but Matai still pays them. We are like family.
As he mentions that he is leaving I feel Octavia's body go limp in my arms and I'm just about to turn around and make sure she is alright until I realise that Matai is still standing there. He needs to leave because I need to sort out Octavia.
"Aiden, I think if you stay any longer your gunna be late." I chuckle, trying to make it sound like I'm not hiding something. It's harder then it sounds. He just nods and starts to head out the door. Good thing too because my arms are starting to hurt.
Once he leaves I turn quickly and see she has completely blacked out.
"Harvey, quick get a pillow or something that Octavia can put her head on. We need to lie her down." I don't look up but by the sound of no one moving I know they don't know what I'm on about. Suddenly something clicks inside of them because they all crowd around us.
I put her head in my lap and straighten her hair with my hands. Her breathing slowly starts to go back to normal and her body is no longer shaking. Well at least that's a good thing.
