The music pulsed through the space, colors flickering and blinding me. All I saw were shapes dancing around as I pushed through the crowd only to bump in to someone – and he was the clearest of shapes. Shaun stood with that stupid smirk on his face, seemingly taunting me ‘cause of my sexual orientation. But his arms wrapped around my waist as he pulled me in and spoke – silencing the music as his words echoed: “so love me.”

“No,” I whispered as I opened my eyes slightly.

“You can’t refuse to wake up Bibi,” Amanda spoke.

She ran her hand through her auburn hair, pushing it back as the other guard stood behind her. I blinked and sat up, looking around to be greeted by the wood of the shed I had manned all night single handedly. The shift was changing and I had fallen asleep again. Uncrossing my arms, I ran my left hand from my right cheek across to my left, checking for drool trails. Amanda laughed familiar with my weird routine before standing up.

“He’ll get used to it,” the new guard said, shaking his head with a smile.

I got to my feet and covered my mouth, embarrassed that I had been caught once again. I slipped out and said my goodbye to Thomas – once he gave me his name- with Amanda in front of me. She held my hand and led me to her car while my free hand rubbed the remaining sleep out of my eyes. I had dreamt of Shaun for the second time and it truly annoyed me. That arse of a man has infiltrated my thoughts to the extent that I actually think of him. I’ve dated guys before and I have never felt so loose in my life. I can’t even cipher if I’m attracted to this guy.

“What cha thinking Bibi,” Amanda asked starting the car as I jumped in.

“Nothing really.”

She changed to the reverse gear and turned in her seat to check if she was clear on either side of the road. A grin lit her face – the one that I hated because in all the years that I have known her, I’ve come to understand that that grin was one of persistence in snooping.

“What’s his name?”

“There’s no one,” I retorted sharply trying to end it there.

“At least tell me an initial.”

“No.”

“Age?”

“No.”

“Looks?”

“No.”

“Oh, he must be a fine mofo with long ass blonde hair and a debonair style that twisted your innards on first sight – Like Jace!”

“Oh God! Shaun is nothing like Jace!”

I was horrified at the comparison Mandy made. Jace was my ex. I was fifteen at the time and I had this weird obsession with tattoo’s and bikers so I got wound up with Jace, who was 23 at the time. He had a ponytail and had dyed his hair rainbow colors which caused alot of attention. But his tattoo’s were a turn on for me. After I witnessed a newbie being tattooed, it put me off and I broke up with him. Plus he was too pushy and, now that I can see, he wasn’t really attractive. All his smoking and stuff got to him. Shaun isn’t like that... wait, did I just defend a stranger?

“Shaun?”

I looked Mandy with wide eyes, imitating a deer caught in head lights.

“How’d you know?”

“I have my sources,” Mandy said with a smirk.

I lowered my head and rubbed my eyes, groaning at the obvious.

“It slipped didn’t it?”

“I do not know why you try to hide things from me Bibi,” She laughed.
