I was fortunate that Lee fell asleep in the back seat. We didn’t have to confront each other and I didn’t have to take back anything I said. I hate feeling responsible for things that I didn’t do but I guess it is my fault that he drank himself drunk.

Glasses clinked on impact, forks scraped nearly empty plates and people were set alive by conversations that had to be held. Mandy and I were barely making conversation though in the midst of the extravagant crowd. We held hands as we sat on a beige sofa that was set in the corner of the restaurant. Her eyes were glued to my face and mine were browsing the menu to see if we could afford anything. This place was one of those executive meeting spots so I did cringe a few times at the prices I was seeing – but I didn’t complain because that was where Mandy chose to go. I swear that she would marry some rich guy in the future.

“Do you want anything?” I turned my attention to her before sliding the menu.

Her focus dropped to the menu as her free hand lifted to wipe a new tear. That wasn’t easy for me to see so I sighed and lifted my head to look around. I instantly regretted doing so. A few tables were glaring our way, probably thinking that I was making Mandy cry and that we were dating. A smile dared to show itself on my face although it wasn’t well received. My head lowered and I sighed again before leaning on Mandy and letting go of her hand to wrap my arms around her.

“Mandy, we tell each other everything. Why are you hiding something that is hurting you?” I asked her.

“Sorry Bibi, I just can’t share this one,” she paused to sniff. “I’ll pull myself together after a bit of wine maybe?”

I blinked and let her go to look at her in surprise. A sly grin came on to her face before she lifted her menu to cover it.

 “I’d say you’re back together.”

Mandy laughed and rubbed her eyes with her free hand.

“You can order for us Bibi. Merlot is good enough.”

“Uh will do,” I hesitantly said as I stood.

Mandy flashed a smile and a peace sign before I turned to look at the bar that was on the other side of the room. I straightened my shirt and began my walk while I ignored the glares around me. My mind was determined to do the task without cowering but my quest wavered when a hot red hair walked past me. He was so tall and so well built that I had to follow him with my eyes as he served the table. His ass was so round and clearly flaunted by the tightness of his black corduroy jeans under his blue apron. I seriously wanted to wrap my hands around each cheek and the thought of a rendezvous with Mr Hottie definitely got me horny. I probably was pink in the face by now. I really should have met up with Shaun today maybe he could have sorted my problem out. Yes, I am looking at another man’s ass while thinking of mine – ever heard the saying “You can look at the menu but eat at home?”

 WHAM!

Dammit why do I lose focus so easily! I pressed my palms on the floor that I just fell on and groaned in pain. Someone ran in to my back while I walked backwards to the bar – my fault of course. A hand rested on my shoulder and helped me gently on to my knees before I rubbed the stinging sensation off my face. I poked my nose and felt no pain which was a relief: my nose wasn’t broken.

“Are you ok?” a guy asked.

“I’m alright. Sorry I never turned to watch where I was going,” I explained before I turned to face him.
