[Your POV]
"Speed star !"
Blackstar spun the katana in his hand, and ran at Fleitte at full speed... He was a blur. Literally.
Well, he has power over speed.
Fleitte simply moved aside, and pulled back a hand, landing a punch square at his opponent's face.
The punch was strong enough to make Blackstar bounce (literally) from the spot he ran from, and rolled over to quickly stand up. "Fuck mind reading..." He grumbled, wiping blood off from his nose. Fleitte cracked his knuckles, grinning wide.
"I'm even weaponless, knight. And I don't even have a damn scratch yet." He laughed, fixing his glasses. "I'm not even serious yet."
You sighed, sitting back under a tree and watching them. It's true, actually. Fleitte's not even serious yet... He removes his glasses when he is.
"But wouldn't that make it harder to fight ? I mean, all you see is blur when you remove your glasses..." You asked, looking up at Fleitte---who was like your older brother. He was two years older than you---you were fourteen and he was already sixteen.
"Nope, sweetie." Fleitte laughed. "It helps. I read minds more clearly and longer. It's because the surroundings don't distract me, and I know exactly where the opponent is by their thoughts. The louder it is, the closer they are." Fleitte laid down on your bed, and stretched.
"Besides, I can still see colors and silhouttes. And for some reason, I also see the person's aura color and emotions. If they're surrounded with red, they're angry. Like that."
"It's pretty obvious." Blackstar mumbled. You knew Fleitte had the upper hand---he can read minds ! Any plan that comes to your knight's head can be deflected by him.
"Dearie, you see, if I was serious, you're down in just a minute." Fleitte shrugged. "I'm giving you lots of nicieties here. Yeesh. I wanted to test if you'd be able to impress me."
"Oh shut up."
[Blackstar's POV]
I can do this. I just have to think differently.
Right. I'll make sure this bitch removes his damn glasses and go all out, too.
I ran at him, again. Damn, his punch hurt. But I wouldn't let that stop me, of course ! I can protect (y/n). Of course I can.
I swung at him, only for him to dodge. Then I swung again.
"You'll get tired that way." Fleitte sighed. I only grinned.
"Enchanted sword mode," I muttered, and slid two fingers near the blade, covering it with shadows. Fleitte smiled wide. "Showing skills now, huh ?"
"Of course." I raised it, and swung at air, sending shadows to hold him still. Fleitte was calm, however, looking down at the restraints that now held him secure to the ground.
"Then you'll cut me with this ?"
"Yes."
Fleitte snickered. "So cliché."
I ran at him, ready to attack of course. I know he alrealy has a plan. Somehow.
I was a few meters away from her, and Fleitte grinned, deciding to move over and reflect light from his glasses---to cut the shadows with it.
"...Speed star."
I used my ability of speed. Everything around me was in slow motion. I ran behind him, and raised the katana, before letting my speed decrease to normal.
"What the fu---"
He turned his head, but I aimed at the back of his neck...
What the hell ?
There's this flower-like tattoo on his temple... I feel like I've seen it before, but I don't remember where.
It was covered quickly by his red hair. I forgot it as soon I saw it, and I landed a hard hit at the back of his neck. Fleitte tensed, and fell straight to the ground, the shadows I placed leaving.
He was in pain, obviously. He didn't even get up---but he wasn't unconscious.
"Pfft," He made a cracked laugh as I panted, with him rolling over and staring at me. "Good job. I heard it too late."
"Hah." I snickered. "Of course. I'm the mighty Blackstar."
"Well," He sat up, and turned to (y/n), who was staring with surprised eyes. "You're in good hands, princess ! Your knight's legit !"
"Thanks...?" (y/n) said with a shy laugh, standing up. Fleitte chuckled, and got up on his feet, holding the back of his neck. "Agh, that hurt... But anyways. Good job, Blackstar."
"Expect better."
"Yeah yeah. Now, let's go back to the castle." Fleitte grinned, and walked ahead. (y/n) went beside me, and walked from behind him.
[Fleitte's POV]
Well, I have to admit, that knight's strong.
And that knight's not a real one.
Even shadows don't move that fast---all they do, is stretch. Slowly, even.
So how did he get behind me in less than two seconds ?
Speed. He has two abilities... He's a royalty. I knew he looked like the kid back in that kingdom... Fancy.
You see, I went to this kingdom--the kingdom of Eine, to look for the prince who can marry the second princess... I found this one named Kid, but to me he seemed to match (y/n) more. So I informed the king and queen about it, and they didn't object.
"Blackstar can marry that girl. Or something." Kid said, placing his fingers on his chin. "I have no interest in those things. I already have someone in my heart I want to grow old with."
"Count me out. I'm not going to marry people just because I have to." The boy with blue hair said, grumbling and crossing his arms. The king, however, gave me a nod.
"It's a deal. It'll add strength to our bond with your kingdom. You're going to marry her, Kid."
"What---" I watched as Kid tensed with wide eyes. Then, he glared. "No ! I love Liz, I don't want t---"
"You will, Kid. I'm sorry for your pharmacist crush but it's been decided."
...So in short, (y/n) will marry Death the Kid, the crowned prince of Eine, in just 3 months.
But the thing is, why is his brother here ? As a knight ?
