This chapter is going to be long but it will be worth it I hope 😂
Chapter 19: The most interesting dinner ever. PART TWO.
I waited for half an hour before Sally called me down. I was sweating like mad and genuinely terrified of walking down those stairs in front of everyone. Making final adjustments to my dress, I headed off to the stairs.
I paused at the top, just like Sally had told me too. I could see the boys, including Will. all dressed in tuxedos talking amongst themselves. I saw a bunch of other people that I didn't recognise too, I was guessing that they were their parents.
Slowly the chatter stopped and all of the heads in the room turned to me. Sally gave me a reassuring nod and I started my decent.
My left hand held on to the bannister and I placed one foot in front of the other. I forced my eyes so focus on something ahead of me, anything but the crowd below me that I was supposed to impress.
When I reached the ground where everyone was stood, I couldn't have been more relieved. Sally blew her nose as all of the 'mum directors' started gushing about how beautiful and graceful I was.
Sally and Peter stood proudly at my side as they introduced me to everyone. Joe's Mum and Dad were lively fokes with great spirt. Josh's parents seemed quite quiet but happy non the less. Theo and Leo's Mum and Dad were hilarious and started cracking jokes, I saw where the twins get it from.
And then we have Wills parents.
I extended my hand to his Mum, expecting them to shake it back like all of the other parents did, however his Mum rudely scanned me up and down before she huffed and turned away. I took a look at her and noticed that she was trying to dress younger than she actually was. She 100% had on fake hair, fake nails and fake eyebrows.
Wills Dad shook my hand and muttered an apology to me about his wife. He tried to strike up a conversation with me but he wasn't really the talkative type.
When I was finally excused from creating everyone, I walked over to the boys who were all stood as far away from their parents as they possibly could be. They all said their greetings before we were called for dinner in the gazebo.
I expected the boys to all go running to the food and shovelling it all in their mouths like they usually do. But instead they all walked in a civilised manner to the gazebo.
I ended up walking side by side with Will. He linked his arm through mine which took me by surprise, but I didn't complain.
"Looking good Hermione." He whispered into my ear, his warm breath tickling my exposed skin. I blushed slightly at his complement.
"You clean up well yourself, book boy." I whispered back. It wasn't a lie, he did look hot. He was wearing a tuxedo like the rest of the boys, however he managed to make it look way sexier.
We walked past the kitchen when I caught part of a conversation between Peter and Wills Dad.
"....how's she doing after the incident?" Peter asked.
I felt Will tense up beside me and he started walking quicker. Part of me wanted to ask what it was about, but the sensible side of me thought otherwise.
