CH. 10

GASP!!! Two updates in one day, as I promised I am posting two chapters because I didn't get to post earlier.

P.S. Sorry it's a short one, but dynamite comes in small packages

"What do we need to talk about?" I ask him sitting up
"We need to get a few things straight," he said pulling a shirt on.
"Okay," I say putting my hair into a braid on the side.
"Just cause I brought you up here doesn't mean I like you or anything," he said before going to the bathroom to change.

"Oh," I say
"Yeah," he says behind the door before emerging in his typical outfit.
"So it doesn't mean we're in love?" I ask him wistfully

"No" he rolls his eyes shifting awkwardly
"Doesn't mean you want to be my boyfriend?" I ask him batting my eyelashes
"No" he grimaces

I sputter with laughter.

"You need to get over yourself," I told him holding my side.
"Are you laughing at me?" he asks
"Yup, and that "doesn't mean I like you" business, believe me, Cupcake, I felt how much you didn't like me" I smirk and winked.

My eyes may be playing tricks on me but I think he blushed a little.

"That was just an emotional response" he shrugged.

"Sure" I nodded.

"Also, I'm going to punish you," Eric said smiling for the first time since we woke up.
"What, why?" I grumble
"Because I caught you out all night" he smirked evilly
"Yeah but I was with you" I accused
"Fine if you want to be accused of cheating that's fine" he roughly grabbed my arm and dragged me towards the door.
"Wait" I cry out to which he stops.
"Fine," I said accepting my fate.

Eric wore his signature scowl as he escorted me to Max's office, his fingers were tight around my forearm like he was trying to leave bruises, I winced when he tightened it further.

He threw me in his office with a look of anger.

"I caught this initiate outside the dorms past lights out. I believe she was sneaking out to see another initiate, possibly even have physical relations" he said wagging his eyebrows slightly.
"Is this true?" Max asked me firmly

"Yes sir I was out all night, BUT I wasn't meeting anyone," I told him.
"What do you suggest her punishment be?" Max asked Eric.

Eric tilted his head thoughtfully before scratching his chin and then smiles.

"She has to help Mag out in the infirmary for the remainder of initiation," he says.

I inwardly cheered knowing that I loved Mag.

"Consider it your punishment" Max nodded before dismissing us.

Eric escorted me out but this time he used a lighter grip on my arm, he pulled me into the dark hall.

"You know what Eric, I think you may have a softer side" I tease him

"From this point on it's all you, I helped you against my better judgment" he gritted his teeth.

"Thank you," I say sincerely, he rolled his eyes and shoved me back out to the main hall.

"You are to report to Mag after training," he said in stern voice.
"Yes sir," I say.

I went back to the dorm to grab a shower and change clothes, As I walk to my cot I had a towel wrapped around myself.

"Where were you last night?" Jade asked wiping her eyes.
"I needed fresh air" I lied grabbing some black ripped jeans and black halter crop top that laces up in the front.
"Do you need Will and me?" she asked
"No, I'm not hiding anymore" letting the towel drop.

Jade widened her eyes as I changed.

"You are so Dauntless" She smiled and hugged me.

I slipped my combat boots.

"We have more fear training today," she said anxiously
"Don't worry" I looped my arms with hers.

Four was given the training today, Eric was nowhere to be found, Four told me he went to Erudite. I found the sims easier to get through when I focused on my breathing. Eric's advice really helped.

"You okay?" I ask Jade she looked pale
"What?" she asked me her blue eyes dull
"I asked if you were okay?" I repeated
"Yeah I'm fine, just not sleeping well," she said.
"I know what you mean," I told her.

Looking around the crowded cafeteria I still couldn't see Eric, I don't even know why I was searching him out. It was like something in him called out to something in me.

"Okay, now it's my turn are you okay?" Jade asked me teasingly
"Yeah" I nodded.

Then a hush descended over the room, loud voices turned into whispering as Eric entered the room, but he wasn't alone, he a beautiful woman on his arm, she had raven black hair, blood red lips, and a nose piercing. Her body was the envy of all woman, curves in the right places but not an ounce of body fat. She was the perfect Dauntless woman.

The conversation swiftly picked. She and Eric joined the leader's table, I notice him scanning the room and he met my eyes quickly before turning back to the table.

Did Eric have a girlfriend?
