Tenten looked up at the clock.

It's only been minutes since she last stole a glance, but she couldn't help herself. In an hour, she would officially resign as the cashier, and if Neji doesn't call her within that hour, they would have lost all contact.

She sighed, resting her chin on her hand. Tenten was positive that if he doesn't show up tonight, they would officially lose all forms of communication.

"Tenten."

She spun around, staring at her boss, "Teuchi-san! Hello!"

"I'm going to miss you, kiddo," Teuchi exclaimed as he walked near her. He held out an envelope, grinning, "Your final salary."

She looked at the white envelope as she smiled from ear to ear. Tenten felt proud; after hours of working, she earned her paycheck. She felt a new chapter of her life begin to unfold, and she knew that university would change her future. The girl looked up, eyes glimmering. "Thank you so much, Teuchi-san!"

He smiled, "Don't sweat it! Now, you better hand in your uniform and get going."

She nodded and began to make her way to the changing room. By the time she was out, she was wearing her typical clothes; a white t-shirt and black jeans. Tenten began to make her way back to the cashier, but heard a voice from behind her.

"Tenten-chan! Wait up."

She turned around, her shoulders dropping as she sighed. "Hey, Lee."

He stopped in front of her, breathing heavily. He frantically said, "Are you leaving?"

She nodded.

"Now?!"

She nodded again.

Lee's eyes began to water, but he quickly shook it off, "I'm gonna miss you, Tenten-chan."

Tenten smiled genuinely. She brought him into a hug and said, "Don't worry, I'll come and visit!"

He nodded and let her go, a smile now plastered on his face. In all honesty, a part of her was hurting. She didn't want their friendship to end there, but as her mother used to say, all good things must come to and end. Always.

She now realized that it was a true statement.

Lee and Tenten began to make their way to the cashier together, more silent than they've ever been in each other's presence. Although they only knew each other for three months, a strong connection was formed; even though good things must come to end, their bond never will.

The rest was simple; she handed in her clothes, waved them goodbye, got into her car, and was gone. Just like that.

"There is never a time or place for true love. It happens accidentally, in a heartbeat, in a single flashing, throbbing moment."

She stood in front of the mirror, scrutinising herself.

For once, Tenten wore a dress. Hard to imagine? I know.

"You look absolutely fantabulous!" screeched Ino.

"I look like shit."

The blonde rolled her eyes as she began to walk towards her, "You need to have more confidence in yourself, y'know? You're gorgeous. Now makeup time!"

Tenten turned around, looking in horror. "No no no no. Back off before I scratch that pretty face of yours off."

But nonetheless, Ino found her ways. At the end, the brunette was wearing heels that she would most definitely trip in, a dress showing off more skin than she was comfortable with, and a full face of makeup. Next thing she knew, Ino pushed her into her car, and she was driving away.

In the short five-minute-drive, she couldn't help but feel nervous. Neji hadn't called her for two weeks since they decided on the date they would meet, and Tenten didn't know what happened. Did he forget about her? Did he decide he didn't want to meet her anymore? Secretly, she hoped it was the former, because it would hurt less that way.

She heaved a sigh. The car was already parked in front of the gate. Getting out of the car, she grabbed her purse and locked the vehicle.

Tenten looked for an obvious place where she could be spotted easily. She decided to sit on a bench inside the park near the entrance, so as soon as he came inside, he would see her. If he came inside, that is.

It was night, if you didn't know, and the full moon was exposed. The starry sky was crystal-clear; it was truly a beautiful sight.

However, as time began to pass, she realized that the chances of him showing up were getting slimer and slimer. Nonetheless, she couldn't help but fantasize of what would happen if he did show up after all. Would they be awkward? Just in case, she began to create conversations in her head.

"Hi! It's so great to finally meet yo--no."

"Bonjour, as you may know, I'm Tente--ugh, that's so lame." She sighed.

Two hours passed, and she was loosing hope. Nonetheless, she waited. And waited. And waited.

But he didn't show.

Tenten finally got off the bench, sighing. She had waited enough. Grabbing her purse, she began to exit the park. But then suddenly, she heard her name.

"Tenten!"

She spun around.

"I'm sorry I'm late!"

It was him.
