"jungkook oppa!" junghee called from her seat at her desk.

"yes, junghee?" the elder inquired, standing in the girl's doorway.

"can you help me with my homework? i don't understand it."

jungkook nodded and smiled, stepping into her room. "of course."

as he patiently showed her how to solve the problems on her homework sheet, he heard a loud shatter.

his eyes widened and he hurried down the stairs. when he glanced into the kitchen, he saw junghoon attempting to clean broken pieces of glass off the hardwood floor.

"junghoon, go upstairs. i'll clean this up," he said quietly as he heard heavy footsteps approaching the kitchen.

doing as he was told, junghoon went upstairs, leaving jungkook in the kitchen to clean up the mess.

"what the hell was that noise?" a gruff voice bellowed.

"i was washing a glass and accidentally dropped it. i'm sorry, abeoji," jungkook apologized, bowing his head.

junghoon and junghee hugged each other tightly, flinching when they heard a loud smack followed by words all too familiar.

"don't let it happen again."
