"Oh..", I froze. "Well, my mother died almost a year ago now and my father...well, let's just say I never knew him.", I answered. "I'm sorry.", John responds. I shrug my shoulders, "He didn't abandon us or anything. It's just he was part of a...sorta dangerous thing at the time. And my mom didn't want me or her in any part of it. For, my protection.", I say getting up and asking, "Where do you keep your forks?" He pointed to the drawer right next to the fridge. "I should've known. Mom and Aunt Amy.", I though as I got two forks out and sat back down. "Share with me?", I ask and he chuckles, "Sure, why not.", he answers grabbing the fork from my left hand and we dig in. I then hear something, that even made me freeze, "That's a nice watch." I look up at John and he is looking at me. "Oh...", I say looking at it on my right wrist. "Yeah, Winston gave it to me today." "It's a men's watch isn't it.", John makes a confused face. I chuckle looking down at my cake, "I tend to look good in anything I find cool. No matter what sex it is for.", I take a bite with a small smirk after finishing my sentence. "I had a watch just like that once. It's why I asked. But, also good point.", John smile at me making me chuckle. And, we continue to eat,

John was showing me around his house some. He told me stories about Mom and him, which almost made me cry. I missed her so damn much. I was looking at a picture of mom in a flower field when John spoke up, "Why do you have a gun in your jacket?". I look down at my jacket, "Winston, you can never be too prepared he says. Plus with me only being eighteen right now I guess I need some back up.", I answer. John chuckled, "Yeah, Winston raised you right." Yeah, he sure did. "Well um, I don't wanna over stay my welcome or anything. Besides, Winston might want me home soon anyways.", I say. "Yeah, well um, thank you for the cake. And, it was a pleasure to meet you...um-" "Eliza.", I respond shaking his hand when we walks me to the door. "Eliza.", John responds and we let go of each others hands. "Have a good night John.", I say walking out the door. "You too.", I hear him say as I walk to my car. "Wait.", I hear John say and he walks towards me but with his eyes on my car. "Is that your car?", John points. I chuckle, "Yeah. Winston gave it to me for my sweet sixteen. It's a 1970 Dodge Challenger.", I answer looking back at John. "Winston got you a good one." "After I begged him for over a year for it.", I laugh and John does too. "Nice, hey if Winston lets me maybe one day I can take you down to a place where you can put some speed in.", John says. I smirk at him, "You got yourself a deal Wick.", I say and then start to walk to my car again. "You be careful.", John says as I open the door to the car. "You too!", I respond and get into my car. I start the engine up and start to drive home.

I stopped at the store to get some snack for me tomorrow, and so Winston wouldn't think I was lying. Even though I was gone for a good hour and a half. I hated lying to Winston but I don't know how he would take it if I just went over to see my father already.
