It was a few days before Ryan could face Skylar after reading the truth about her life and past. He had met up with her of course, sat and talked with her, kissed her and taken her out to lunch or dinner, but it wasn’t until that Friday that he could truly be around her without feeling like he needed to scream out that he knew the truth. But after those few days had passed, he realised that it wasn’t a problem keeping it to himself, he didn’t need to talk about it and he didn’t need to talk about it to Skylar. It would only upset her and he had already made up his mind not to do that to her. He decided that their time apart was getting too much for him. He missed being able to spend all day with her without feeling the need to open his mouth about the things he knew. He headed over to her dorm room with the clear decision in his head that it was her second chance at life and love so he wasn’t going to ruin it for her. He wasn’t aware that Skylar had been afraid of his distance and that she had frightened him off by letting them be together and because of his fight with Devin. It was why she hadn’t pressed the issue. So when she opened her door to him, heading out to the gym to work off some frustration only to walk into Ryan as he was about to knock on her door, smiling at her, she couldn’t help but take a step back in surprise. “Hey…can I come in?” He asked hesitantly, unable to stop smiling at her and how she just blushed and took another step back into her room, looking somewhat scared and uncertain. Neither of them had to speak because they both knew that something pretty serious was going on between them and as soon as he walked into the room, he ignored everything else he had intended to say and do, and shut the door behind him before pulling her into his arms and kissing her outright.

So much was starting to make sense…her weak pulse, why she kept passing out and what it all meant. He thought it had made sense before but kissing her only made him even more certain that he wasn’t going to let it get between them. Again though, Skylar did what she was best at, she melted into his arms and gave up any fight she would have put up against him at any other time, against her better judgement and feeling so completely his and won over by him ever since she had agreed to stop fighting. She put up no resistance against his kisses or the touch of his hand brushing through her hair and she barely even noticed him shouldering out of his jacket. It hadn’t been his intention to only show up and sleep with her, he had intended to apologise for being a little distant lately and take her out to dinner but as soon as he saw her, he couldn’t help his instant reaction. Kissing her was like an addiction, he just couldn’t stop once he’d started and the moment he got rid of his jacket, he helped her off with her skirt, pushing it off her hips and letting her step out of it as they backed over towards the bed. Skylar didn’t much care about their future or the awful truths she knew, all she cared about was Ryan and the expert way he kissed her and held her close. Their close contact was only interrupted by the removal of his t-shirt and his hockey sweater that Skylar wore more and more lately.

He loved it, he loved seeing her in it, he loved the way it looked on her and he couldn’t help the way that their kiss became more heated as the rest of their clothes were removed. It didn’t take long before they were in bed, under the covers, kissing and caressing each other in a silent appreciation for all that they felt for each other and all that had happened and would happen between them. It wasn’t until her phone rang out that the mood was spoiled. Ryan was a little afraid that she would call it to an end now that she’d had someone interrupt her enough to see how far things could have gone between them, but he couldn’t risk letting her change her mind again. He might admit to everything he knew and he couldn’t do that to her, so he kissed her, good and long, a little frustrated that every time they got even close enough to have a relatively passionate kiss, they were interrupted by someone or something. He was a little disappointed when Skylar reached out to the bedside table, her long, slender fingers struggling to get a grip of her mobile. Once she got a hold of it, he was happily surprised to see that she immediately switched it off and quite literally threw it across the room. He couldn’t help but just look down at her in confusion, only to see that she looked embarrassed, even though there was a smile on her lips that he adored. “What is it? What are you thinking?” Ryan asked adoringly, making her sigh and look up at him uncertainly before explaining. She wasn’t quite sure how to say it but she tried her hardest to admit it without looking like an idiot. She made him promise not to laugh at her first.
