"Good morning, Baby." Damon whispers in my ear as my eyes flutter open to the blinding light of our bedroom. "You look beautiful."

I smile and roll over to look at him, our faces only inches apart. I press my lips gently to his. "Thanks. As do you." I say to him, our foreheads pressed against each other. I gaze into his eyes, lost in the moment; lost in the peace of the morning.

"Why don't you take the day off today? We can spend it together. Maybe go on a date." He winks at me after he says this and I know exactly what he wants, but not today. Today I have an important meeting.

"You know I can't, Damon." I say, rolling back over. I start to get out of bed but he drapes an arm over me. He hugs me close so that my back is pressed against his stomach, and he nuzzles his head in my neck.

"10 more minutes?" He asks. "We don't have to do anything. Just sleep."

I take his arm and de-tangle myself from him. before he can grab me again, i jump out of bed. "As much as I would love that, I can't. Tomorrow, I promise." I say to him before walking to the attached bathroom in our bedroom.

I met Damon shortly after I moved out of Caleb and my's penthouse. He had moved to New york around the same time that I was considering leaving and moving the business to another location. I was in a bar one night at the same time that he was, and we hit it off from there. He has a business of his own. A fashion business that sells dress clothing for men. Needless to say, he likes getting dressed up all fancy. I can't argue with it because he looks very nice when he does.

He has almost black hair and green-hazelish eyes that almost remind me of...

I don't dare think too much of him, for I fall into a deep sadness that takes forever to get out of.

I mindlessly get myself ready for the day. I run a brush through my hair and touch up on makeup. Looking myself over in the mirror, I deem myself presentable to the outside world and walk to my closet to find something good to wear.

I rifle through the shelves and shelves of clothes until I finally decide on a plain white t-shirt and black skinny jeans.

When I return to the bedroom, Damon is in the process of putting on a shirt and I get to witness his fantastic toned abs. I stop for a second and admire the beauty of his body, before I realize that I'll probably be late if I don't get going now.

I run over to Damon, kissing his cheek, mumbling a goodbye and rushing out of our apartment.

"Caleb." I greet as I walk into the office.

"Morning, Enny." He replies shortly before going back to what he was doing.

Ever since I met Henry, whom I found out was a cheating little bastard, Caleb and I haven't been the same. Best friends, now strangers.

He's become a completely different person. He wears nice clothes to work, when he used to wear sweatpants. He's had a steady girlfriend for 2 years, when he used to sleep around. His hair used to be on the longer side, and now it's only around an inch long, and even shorter on the sides.

I casually walk into my office, closing the door and walking over to my desk.

Looking at the clock I see that the meeting starts in 10 minutes. I quickly gather my stuff and walk to one of the conference rooms, always preferring to be early rather than on time or late. I set up my stuff at a seat near the window since I like to be able to look outside if things get heated or boring.

Caleb walks into the room shortly after me, his steps faltering when he sees me there. He takes his seat on the opposite side of the table and pretends to be engrossed with something on his phone. What's surprising is that even when he looks down, he still does not get a double chin. unlike me...my chin looks like a lava flow when I look down at my phone.

I realize that I'm staring and quickly look away, down at my papers that have notes that we were given from some of the lower managers who bring any arising issues to our attention. This meeting seems to be about another company stealing almost every aspect of ours. An app exactly like Caleny. Same color scheme and everything. Same exact functions.

I don't see the problem, though. There are tons of apps out there just like ours. Makes me wonder why this is meeting-worthy.

At exactly 9:00, a group of 5 men and women bustle in through the door each holding their laptop and a folder. They take their seats between Caleb and I, and begin their speech.

"Hello, Mr. Emery and Ms. Walker. We've called a meeting today because we're getting sued by this other company called Monster Pics. Stupid name, but they've got a good lawyer." One man named Joe says as he plops down a piece of paper in front of each of us. "So, we clearly have a problem here. But I don't see how they could possibly win since they created their business 5 months after us. They are claiming that we 'completely copied' their idea by stealing data from their computers. And-"

"What Joe's trying to say," a woman name Karen interjects, "is that you two need to travel to their business to try to talk them down. We can't afford to pay the money that they're asking for. It's absolutely outrageous."

"You two meaning...?" I ask silently praying that it won't be Caleb and me, but I know that it is since we're CEO's.

"You and Mr. Emery, of course." Karen says to us.

I quickly glance over at Caleb, and he does the same. He then turns to Karen. "When do we need to leave? Please get me the details within the hour."

"Of course, sir. And Ms. Walker? Would you like for me to do the same?" Karen asks, looking at me expectantly.

"Oh, yes please. Thank you very much, Karen." I reply to her with a smile.

"My pleasure."
