Happiness I cannot grasp
Hard as I may try
Hiding in darkened desolation
Hearing not my desperate cries
Faithfully I cling to hope
For without hope what is this life of mine
Merely fruit without the sun
Sure to sour on the vine
Though the sun show surely show its face
Bringing reprieve to this tortured soul
Dear Lord, I beg, reveal this place
For it is all in your control
