"Kason Miller is waiting for you in your office." My receptionist Yvette said after I finished talking with a patients parent.

"Okay great, I'm headed out for a doctors appointment so Dr. Poke will be covering for me until I get back."

"Okay, I'll let your patients know. I didn't know you were dating again."

"I don't tell you a lot of things. If anyone calls with an emergency call my cell phone, have a nice lunch."

"Your receptionist might have a crush on me." He said looking up from reading the What to Expect Before You're Expecting Book I'd bought a few weeks ago.

"Well it disappeared because she thinks we're dating," I said grabbing my things so that we could go.

"Why is that?" He asked as he started his car.

"I don't tell her everything that goes on in my life and neither does she, now please focus on the road."

"You have nothing to be nervous about. No matter what the doctor says we're going to be fine." He said grabbing my hand in reassurance. I loved

"I know but I'm still nervous." We made it to our appointment on time and the nursed called us to an examination room shortly after checking in.

"So I went over both of your tests and you two are fine to have a baby with either method you choose. But I am concerned about the previous miscarriage you sustained Dr. Simms. I know you want to conceive using insemination so we are going to prepare for that. And if you two change your mind let me know and . For now, I'm going to start you on some hormones that should help with the process of getting pregnant. And then in a few weeks, we should be ready to conceive a baby."

She left the room after explaining how the treatments will work and the side effects that may occur.

"What actually happened?"

"What are you talking about?" I said avoiding the subject.

"Don't avoid the subject Amara? What happened with Marco that was so bad you had a miscarriage? Why didn't you tell me you were pregnant?"

"I'll tell you when you're not driving."

"Fine." He pulled over on the side of the road and turned in his seat to look at me.

"Why the hell did you pull over, the pharmacy is going to close for lunch soon and I don't have time to go after work. I'm also very hungry and would like to have lunch before I go back to work."

"You said you wouldn't tell me while I was driving, so I pulled over. I'm going to ask again and you're going to tell me the truth. When did it happen and how bad was it?"

"After he lost to you we had an argument about me supporting you more than him. I told him that I supported both of you and did not want to choose between either of you. He told me that I wouldn't have to if I put more focus on our relationship than my friendship with you. I told him if he spent more time with me than he did with the ring girls we wouldn't be having this conversation. He got pissed that I accused him of cheating and slapped me. I was sick of him so I pushed him away, which only made him madder. He punched me then threw me against the wall. After that everything's a blur I remember him kicking me in my stomach calling me a fat bitch. I found out I was pregnant that morning and was planning on telling him after the fight but that never happened."

"I'm gonna kill him."

"No, you are not."

"He hurt you, Amara."
