Chapter 5

Amara

"What happened?" I asked sitting up from Kason's lap.

"You passed out when you saw Marco. I know the guy is ugly but don't scare me like that."

"I don't know what happened. I saw him and I was in shock. Why was he here? I have a restraining order against him so he shouldn't need to see me."

"Our rematch is coming up so he's trying to figure out what he can do to get in my head. My guess he thought that if someone photographed you two together it would mess with my game plan."

"That has been the furthest thing from my mind. How am I going to go to your fight, I never miss one of your fights."

"I can set you up in my apartment near arena so you won't be near him. Is should be far enough that you won't be in violation of the restraining order."

"I don't want you to go through all that trouble. I'll stay at home and watch the fight on pay per view with my girls."

"I don't want you to pay for a fight that you can watch for free. I was going to suggest staying at my apartment if you were pregnant around that time. But now I want you there for my sanity because I will worry about you."

"We still have time to make plans. What happened after I passed out? Did you two fight?" I said changing the subject.

"As much as I wanted to kick his ass, no we didn't. I told him to leave after I brought you to the couch. I also figured out another reason why you may have passed out."

"What is it?" I said hoping he hadn't noticed.

"You haven't been taking your medicine again, what if you went into a coma. You promised you would do better by taking your medicine and checking your blood sugar."

"I don't need to take it. My blood sugar has been normal."

"Did your doctor tell you that?"

"She said that I was doing fine and could stop taking the pills soon."

"She didn't say that it was for you to decide. Amara this is serious and can be very dangerous while pregnant."

"I know, I hate having to take those pills and pricking my finger everyday, I'll take them but not because you told me to."

"I know it sucks but this is something you've been dealing with for years. I'll be checking after you to make sure you keep your promise."

"I will, I took a test today."

"What did it say?"

"Negative."

"We should take a break on trying to get pregnant right away."

"Are you changing your mind?"

"No, not at all. I'm saying we've only been focusing on getting pregnant and it hasn't happened yet. I read that if we don't focus on getting pregnant as much we'll have a better chance of getting pregnant. And I can see how much this is affecting you, no matter how hard you've been trying to hide it.

"So what do we do now?"

"What do you mean?"

"Are we going to try and be in a relationship? Are we taking a break from having sex?"

"I want for us to try and be in a relationship. If that means we have to stop having sex to get to know each other, then I'm okay with it. If we are going to be together I want you to be comfortable. The ball is in your court and you can do whatever you want with it. I'm following your lead."
